Genesis
41 After two full years don pass, Phar′aoh dream say e de stand near River Nile. 2 And for there, seven fine-fine cows wey fat de come out from the river, and them de chop grass for River Nile. 3 After, other seven worwor cows wey thin for body de come out from River Nile, and them stand together with the fat cows for the side of River Nile. 4 Then the worwor cows wey thin for body start to chop the seven fine-fine cows wey fat. Then Phar′aoh wake up.
5 Then e sleep again and dream another dream. One stem of grain produce seven heads of grain wey big and fine. 6 And after, another stem grow and produce seven heads of grain wey thin and wey the breeze from the east don really dry. 7 And the thin heads of grain start to swallow the seven big-big heads of grain wey fine. Na this time Phar′aoh wake up and see say na dream.
8 But for morning, Phar′aoh start to worry. So e call all the priests wey de do magic for Egypt and all the men wey get sense. Phar′aoh tell them im dreams, but nobody fit tell Phar′aoh the meaning of the dreams.
9 Then the oga of people wey de give Phar′aoh drink tell-am say: “I de confess my sin today. 10 E get one time wey Phar′aoh vex for im servants. So e put me for prison for the house of the oga of the guards, me and the oga of the people wey de bake things. 11 After, each of us dream for the same night. E dream and I dream, and each of the dream get im own meaning. 12 And for there, one young Hebrew man dey with us, and na servant of the oga of the guards. When we tell-am our dreams, e tell us the meaning of each dream. 13 E happen exactly as e tell us. Them put me back for my work, but them hang the other man.”
14 So Phar′aoh say make them bring Joseph, and them bring-am quick-quick from the prison.* E shave and change im cloths and go meet Phar′aoh. 15 Then Phar′aoh tell Joseph say: “I dream one dream, but nobody dey to talk the meaning. I hear say when person tell you dream, you go fit tell-am the meaning.” 16 So Joseph answer Phar′aoh say: “No be me de talk-am! God go tell Phar′aoh wetin go good for-am.”
17 Then Phar′aoh tell Joseph say: “For my dream, I stand for the side of River Nile. 18 And for there, seven fine-fine cows wey fat de come out from the river, and them start to chop grass for the river. 19 And other seven cows come out after them. The cows dey weak, them worwor no be small and them thin for body. I never see cows wey worwor like that before for the whole land of Egypt. 20 Then the cows wey thin for body and wey worwor start to chop the first seven cows wey fat. 21 But even after them don chop them finish, nobody go know say them don chop the fat cows, because them no good for eye as them be for beginning. Then I wake up.
22 “After that one, for my dream, I see one stem of grain produce seven heads of grain wey big and fine. 23 And after, another stem grow and produce seven heads of grain wey dey weak, thin, and the east wind don really dry them. 24 Then the thin heads of grain start to swallow the seven heads of grain wey fine. So I tell the priests wey de do magic about the dream, but nobody fit tell me the meaning.”
25 Then Joseph tell Phar′aoh say: “The dreams wey Phar′aoh dream get the same meaning. Na wetin the true God go do e don tell Phar′aoh. 26 The seven fine-fine cows na seven years. The seven fine heads of grain na seven years too. The dreams get the same meaning. 27 The seven cows wey thin for body and wey no fine, wey come out after them, na seven years. And the seven heads of grain wey nothing dey inside, wey the east wind don dry, go be seven years wey hunger go dey. 28 This one na just as I don tell Phar′aoh say: Na wetin the true God go do e don make Phar′aoh see.
29 “Seven years de come wey food go really plenty for the whole land of Egypt. 30 But seven years wey hunger go dey go surely come after them, and people go surely forget all the plenty food wey be dey the land of Egypt, and the hunger go finish the land. 31 Them no go remember the plenty food wey be dey the land, because of the hunger wey go follow-am, because the hunger go really serious. 32 Phar′aoh dream about-am two times because the true God don stamp the matter and na small time remain make the true God do-am.
33 “Now, make Phar′aoh look for one man wey de understand something well and wey get sense, and make e give-am authority to be head for the land of Egypt. 34 Make Phar′aoh do something and choose people wey go be head for the land, and make e collect one part out of five part of the things wey them go harvest for Egypt for the seven years wey food go plenty. 35 And make them collect all the food for this better years wey de come, make them gather grain as food wey dey under Phar′aoh control, and make them store them for the cities, and protect them there. 36 Na this food people go chop for the land for the seven years wey hunger go dey for the land of Egypt, so that hunger no go kill the people and the animals for the land.”
37 Phar′aoh and all im servants like this thing wey Joseph talk. 38 So Phar′aoh ask im servants say: “Another person dey wey get the spirit of God like this man?” 39 Then Phar′aoh tell Joseph say: “Since God don make you know all this things, nobody dey wey de understand something well and wey get sense like you. 40 Na you go be head for my house, and all my people go obey you for everything. The only thing wey go make me big pass you na because I be king.”* 41 Phar′aoh still tell Joseph say: “See, I de put you as head for the whole land of Egypt.” 42 Then Phar′aoh comot im special ring for im own hand and put-am for Joseph hand, e wear-am quality linen cloths and put gold chain for im neck. 43 Apart from that one, e talk say make them take the second chariot wey e de use as king carry Joseph, and make them dey im front de talk say, “A·vrékh!”* Na so Phar′aoh take make Joseph head for the whole land of Egypt.
44 Phar′aoh still tell Joseph say: “Na me be Phar′aoh, but if you no talk say make person do something, nobody go fit do anything* for the whole land of Egypt.” 45 After that one, Phar′aoh give Joseph the name Zaph′e·nath-pa·ne′ah and e give-am As′e·nath as im wife. As′e·nath na the daughter of Pot·i′phe·ra, the priest of On.* Joseph come start to control* the land of Egypt. 46 Joseph dey 30 years when e stand for front of* Phar′aoh the king of Egypt.
Then Joseph comot from front of Phar′aoh and travel round the whole land of Egypt. 47 And for the seven years wey food go plenty, the land continue to produce plenty food. 48 And e continue to collect all the food from the land of Egypt for the seven years, and e gather the food keep for the cities. For each city, e go keep the food wey them harvest from the farms wey dey around the city. 49 Joseph continue to gather plenty-plenty grain, just like sand wey dey for sea, sotey at last, them stop to measure how the food plenty reach because them no fit measure-am again.
50 Before the year of hunger reach, Joseph don get two sons wey As′e·nath wey be the daughter of Pot·i′phe·ra, the priest of On* born for-am. 51 Joseph name the firstborn Ma·nas′seh,* because e talk say: “God don make me forget all my problems and all the family of my papa.” 52 And e name the second one E′phra·im,* because e talk say: “God don make me get children* for the land wey I dey de suffer.”
53 Then the seven years wey food plenty for the land of Egypt end. 54 The seven years wey hunger go dey come start, just as Joseph be don talk-am. The hunger reach all the lands, but food* dey everywhere for the land of Egypt. 55 At last, the hunger affect the people for all the land of Egypt, and the people start to cry to Phar′aoh say make e give them food. Then Phar′aoh tell all Egypt people say: “Make una go meet Joseph and do anything wey e tell una.” 56 The hunger continue for the whole earth. Then Joseph start to open all the place them wey e gather food keep among the people, e come de sell-am to Egypt people, because the hunger really strong for the land of Egypt. 57 Apart from that one, people from the whole earth come Egypt to buy food from Joseph, because the hunger really strong for the whole earth.
