1 Chronicles 16:1-43

The First Book of Chronicles

16 So them bring the Ark of the true God and put-am inside the tent wey David don make for-am, and them do offerings wey them de burn and peace sacrifice them for front of the true God. 2 When David don do the offerings wey them de burn and the peace sacrifice them finish, e use the name of Jehovah bless the people. 3 After this one, e carry round bread, cake wey them make with date fruit, and cake wey them make with raisin, and e share-am for all the Israel people, for every man and woman. 4 Then e choose some of the Levites to work for front of the Ark of Jehovah, to honor,* thank, and praise Jehovah the God of Israel. 5 Na A′saph be the leader, and the next person after-am na Zech·a·ri′ah; the people wey de play the music instruments wey get strings and harps na Je·i′el, She·mir′a·moth, Je·hi′el, Mat·ti·thi′ah, E·li′ab, Be·nai′ah, O′bed-e′dom, and Je·i′el; and the person wey de play the cymbals na A′saph, 6 and na Be·nai′ah and Ja·ha·zi′el wey be priests de blow the trumpets everytime for front of the ark of agreement of the true God.

7 Na that day be the first time wey David write song to thank Jehovah and e tell A′saph and im brothers say make them sing-am say:

8 “Make una thank Jehovah, make una call im name,

Make una tell people the things wey e de do!

9 Make una sing to-am, make una sing songs* to praise-am,

Make una think deep* about all im wonderful works.

10 Make una use im holy name boast.

Make the heart of people wey de look for Jehovah happy well-well.

11 Make una find Jehovah and the power wey e de give.

Make una find im face everytime.

12 Make una remember the wonderful things wey e don do,

Im miracles and the different-different matter wey e don judge,

13 Una wey be the children* of Israel wey be im servant,

Una wey be the sons of Jacob, the people wey e don choose.

14 Na im be Jehovah our God.

Im judgments dey for the whole earth.

15 Make una remember im agreement forever,

The promise wey e make* to thousand generations,

16 The agreement wey e make with Abraham,

And wetin e swear as promise to Isaac,

17 Wey e give to Jacob as law

And e give-am to Israel as agreement wey go last,

18 Say, ‘I go give you the land of Ca′naan

As your property wey them share give you.’

19 E talk this one when una never plenty,

Yes, una small well-well that time, and una be strangers for the land.

20 Them waka about from nation to nation,

From one kingdom to another kingdom.

21 E no allow anybody to oppress them,

But e warn kings because of them,

22 Say, ‘Make una no touch my people wey I don anoint,

And make una no do any bad thing to my prophets.’

23 Make all the people wey dey the earth sing to Jehovah!

Everyday, make una announce how e de save people!

24 Make una talk about im glory among the nations,

And make una tell all the people about im wonderful works.

25 Because Jehovah dey great and e reach to receive all the praise.

Them suppose fear-am pass all other gods.

26 All the gods wey the people get na useless gods,

But na Jehovah be the person wey make the heavens.

27 Glory and beauty dey where e dey;

Power and joy dey for the place wey e de stay.

28 All the families for the earth, make una give Jehovah wetin e suppose get,

Make una give Jehovah wetin e suppose get because of im glory and power.

29 Make una give Jehovah the honor wey e suppose get because of im name;

Make una bring gift and come im front.

Make una bow down to* Jehovah with holy cloths wey una wear.*

30 All the people wey dey for the earth, make una shake for im front!

E don make the earth* stand well for where e dey; nothing go fit move-am from that place.*

31 Make the heavens happy and make joy dey the earth;

Make una announce-am among the nations say: ‘Jehovah don be King!’

32 Make the sea and everything wey dey inside sound like thunder;

Make the bush them and everything wey dey inside them happy.

33 For the same time, make the trees wey dey for forest shout with joy for Jehovah front,

Because e de come* judge the earth.

34 Make una thank Jehovah, because e good;

Im love wey no de fail de last forever.

35 And make una talk say, ‘Save us, our God wey de save us,

Gather us and save us from the nations,

So that we go thank your holy name

And de happy to praise you.

36 Make them praise Jehovah the God of Israel

Now and forever.’”*

And all the people talk say, “Amen!”* and them praise Jehovah.

37 Then David leave A′saph and im brothers for there for front of the ark of agreement of Jehovah, so that them go continue to work for front of the Ark, according to how them don arrange-am say make them do everyday. 38 The gatemen na O′bed-e′dom and im brothers, wey reach 68, with O′bed-e′dom, wey be the son of Je·du′thun, plus Ho′sah; 39 and Za′dok wey be priest, and the other priests be dey the front of the tabernacle of Jehovah ontop the high place* wey dey Gib′e·on 40 so that them go de do offerings wey them de burn to Jehovah all the time ontop the altar of offering wey them de burn, for morning and evening, and to do everything wey them write for the Law of Jehovah wey e command Israel people. 41 The people wey dey with them na He′man and Je·du′thun and the rest of the men wey them select, wey them call their names, so that them go de thank Jehovah, because “im love wey no de fail de last forever”; 42 na He′man and Je·du′thun them choose to play the trumpets, cymbals, and the instruments wey them de use praise* the true God; and na the sons of Je·du′thun dey for gate. 43 Then all the people go their house and David comot go bless im own family.
