The Second Book of Chronicles
20 After that one, Mo′ab people and Am′mon people with some Am′mon·im* people come fight war with Je·hosh′a·phat. 2 So them tell Je·hosh′a·phat say: “Plenty-plenty people don come fight you from the area wey sea* dey, from E′dom, and them dey for Haz′a·zon-ta′mar, wey be, En-ged′i.” 3 So Je·hosh′a·phat start to fear and e decide* say e go find direction from Jehovah. So e talk say make all Judah people fast. 4 Then Judah people gather together to beg Jehovah to help them; them come from all the cities of Judah to ask Jehovah for direction.
5 Then Je·hosh′a·phat stand up for the middle of Judah and Jerusalem people wey gather for Jehovah house, for front of the new compound, 6 and e talk say:
“O Jehovah the God of our papa-papa them, no be you be God for the heavens? No be you de control all the kingdoms for the nations? Power and strength dey your hand and nobody go fit stand against you. 7 O our God, no be you pursue the people wey de live for this land comot for front of your people Israel and then give the land to the children* of Abraham your friend as their own forever? 8 And them live for there, and them build holy place for you for there, for your name, and talk say, 9 ‘If we face any serious problem, whether na from sword or strong judgment, serious sickness, or serious hunger, make we stand for front of this house and for your front (because your name dey for this house) and call you to help us from our problem, make you hear us and save us.’ 10 Now see the men of Am′mon, Mo′ab, and the people wey dey the area wey mountains dey for Se′ir, wey you be no allow Israel people to attack them when them de comot from the land of Egypt. Israel people leave them, them no destroy them. 11 Now see how them want pay us back. Them want pursue us comot from your property wey you give us to inherit. 12 O our God, you no go punish them? Because we no get power reach this plenty-plenty people wey de come fight us, and we no know wetin to do but we de look you say you go help us.”

14 Then for the middle of people wey gather, the spirit of Jehovah enter Ja·ha·zi′el wey be son of Zech·a·ri′ah son of Be·nai′ah son of Je·i′el son of Mat·ta·ni′ah wey be Levite and wey be one of the sons of A′saph. 15 E talk say: “All Judah people and all of una wey de stay for Jerusalem and King Je·hosh′a·phat, make una listen! This na wetin Jehovah de tell una, ‘Make una no fear or de shake because of this plenty-plenty people, because this fight no be una own but na God own. 16 Tomorrow make una go down go fight them. Make una stand for una place, make una no move, and see how Jehovah go save una. O Judah and Jerusalem people, make una no fear or de shake. Tomorrow make una go out go fight them and Jehovah go dey with una.’”
18 Quick-quick, Je·hosh′a·phat bow down face ground, and all Judah people and people wey de live for Jerusalem kneel down for Jehovah front to worship Jehovah. 19 Then the Levites wey come from the family of Ko′hath and the family of Kor′ah stand up to praise Jehovah the God of Israel and their voice loud well-well.
20 The next morning, them wake up early and go the wilderness of Te·ko′a. As them de go, Je·hosh′a·phat come stand up and talk say: “Make una hear me, O Judah people and una wey de live for Jerusalem! Make una put faith for Jehovah una God so that una go fit stand strong.* Make una put faith for im prophets and una go succeed.”
21 After e don talk with the people, e choose men to sing to Jehovah and to give-am praise, and them wear holy cloths as them dey for front of the soldiers de go, and them de talk say: “Make una thank Jehovah, because im love wey no de fail de last forever.”
22 When Judah people start to sing songs of praise and de happy, Jehovah just attack the men of Am′mon, the men of Mo′ab, and the men wey de live for the area wey mountains dey for Se′ir wey come attack Judah, and them start to kill each other. 23 And Am′mon people and Mo′ab people turn against the people wey de live for area wey mountain dey for Se′ir, them destroy and kill them; when them kill people wey de live for Se′ir finish, them kill each other.
24 When Judah people come the watchtower* wey dey the wilderness and look the plenty people, them see their dead body wey dey for ground; nobody among them survive. 25 So Je·hosh′a·phat and im people come pack the people things, and them see plenty things, cloths, and plenty things wey get value, wey them carry for theirself sotey them no fit carry them again. E take them three days to carry the things wey them collect because them really plenty. 26 For the fourth day, them gather together for the Lowland* of Ber′a·cah, for there, them praise Jehovah. Na because of this one them de call that place Lowland of Ber′a·cah*—till today.
27 Then all the men of Judah and Jerusalem, wey Je·hosh′a·phat de lead, come back to Jerusalem de happy, because Jehovah make them happy as them win their enemies. 28 So them come Jerusalem with instruments wey get strings, harps, and trumpets and them go the house of Jehovah. 29 And all the kingdoms of the lands start to fear God when them hear say Jehovah fight against the enemies of Israel people. 30 Na this one make the kingdom of Je·hosh′a·phat get peace, and im God continue to give-am rest for everywhere.
31 And Je·hosh′a·phat continue to rule Judah people, e dey 35 years when e start to rule as king, and na 25 years e rule for Jerusalem. Im mama name na A·zu′bah wey be the daughter of Shil′hi. 32 E continue to do the things wey im papa A′sa be do. E no stop to do them, and e do wetin correct for Jehovah eyes. 33 But, the high place* them be still dey, and the people never prepare their heart for the God of their papa-papa them.
34 As for the other story about Je·hosh′a·phat, from the start go reach the end, them write-am there among the words of Je′hu the son of Ha·na′ni, and them add-am join the Book of the Kings of Israel. 35 After, King Je·hosh′a·phat of Judah make agreement with King A·ha·zi′ah of Israel, wey do wicked things. 36 So e make-am person wey go work with-am to make ships wey go go Tar′shish, and them make the ships for E′zi·on-ge′ber. 37 But, E·li·e′zer the son of Dod·av′a·hu wey come from Ma·re′sha don talk wetin go happen to Je·hosh′a·phat. E say: “Because you make agreement with A·ha·zi′ah, Jehovah go destroy your works.” So the ships scatter, and them no fit go Tar′shish.
