Genesis
35 After that one, God tell Jacob say: “Comot, go up go stay for Beth′el, and make altar for there for the true God wey appear to you before, when you be de run from E′sau your brother.”
2 Then Jacob tell people for im house and everybody wey dey with-am say: “Make una remove* the lie-lie gods* wey dey with una, and clean unaself and change una cloths, 3 and make we comot and go up to Beth′el. I go make one altar for there for the true God wey answer me for the day when I dey for trouble, and wey don dey with me anywhere* wey I don go.” 4 So them give Jacob all the lie-lie gods wey them get and the earrings wey them wear for their ears, and Jacob bury* them under the big tree wey near She′chem.
5 As them de travel de go, the fear from God enter the people of the cities around them, so them no pursue the sons of Jacob. 6 At last, Jacob reach Luz, wey them de call Beth′el, for the land of Ca′naan, Jacob and all the people wey dey with-am. 7 E build one altar for there and call the place El-beth′el,* because na there the true God show imself to-am when e run from im brother. 8 After, Deb′o·rah, wey de care for Re·bek′ah* die, and them bury-am for the down part of the hill wey Beth′el dey, under one oak tree. So e call-am Al′lon-bac′uth.*
9 God appear to Jacob again when e de come from Pad′dan-a′ram and e bless-am. 10 God tell-am say: “Your name na Jacob. But your name no go be Jacob again, na Israel your name go be.” And e start to call-am Israel. 11 God still tell-am say: “I be God Almighty. Make you born children and make them plenty. Nations and group* of nations go come from you, and kings go come from your family.* 12 As for the land wey I don give Abraham and Isaac, I go give-am to you, and I go give the land to your children* wey go come after you.” 13 Then God leave-am go up for the place wey e don talk with-am.
14 So Jacob put pillar for the place where God don talk with-am. Na pillar of stone, and e pour wine offering ontop-am and pour oil ontop-am. 15 And Jacob continue to call the place where God don talk with-am, Beth′el.
16 Then them comot from Beth′el. Na when e still far small before them reach Eph′rath, Rachel start to born and im labor really hard-am. 17 But as e de struggle to born the pikin, the woman wey de help-am born, tell-am say: “No fear, because you go still born this boy.” 18 As im life de go small-small* (because e de die), e call the pikin Ben-o′ni,* but im papa call-am Benjamin.* 19 So Rachel die and them bury-am for the road to Eph′rath, wey them de call Beth′le·hem. 20 Jacob put pillar for im grave; na the pillar of Rachel grave come reach today.
21 After that one, Israel comot for there and make im tent for somewhere after the tall house of E′der. 22 One time when Israel be de live for that land, Reu′ben go sleep with Bil′hah im papa concubine,* and Israel hear about-am.
So Jacob get 12 sons. 23 The sons wey Le′ah born for Jacob na Reu′ben, wey be the firstborn, then Sim′e·on, Le′vi, Judah, Is′sa·char, and Zeb′u·lun. 24 The sons wey Rachel born for Jacob na Joseph and Benjamin. 25 And the sons wey Bil′hah, wey be Rachel servant born for Jacob na Dan and Naph′ta·li. 26 And the sons wey Zil′pah, wey be Le′ah servant born for Jacob na Gad and Ash′er. Na this ones be the sons of Jacob wey them born for-am for Pad′dan-a′ram.
27 Jacob finally reach where im papa Isaac dey for Mam′re. E reach Kir′i·ath-ar′ba, wey them de call Heb′ron, where Abraham and Isaac be live as strangers. 28 All the years wey Isaac live na 180 years. 29 Then Isaac breathe for the last time and die, and them bury-am just as them bury im people, after e don live long and happy life. Im sons E′sau and Jacob bury-am.
