Deuteronomy
26 “When you don enter the land wey Jehovah your God de give you as your property, and you don take-am as your own and don de live for inside, 2 make you take some of the firstfruits of all the things* wey the ground produce, wey you go gather from your land wey Jehovah your God de give you, and put them for inside basket and go the place wey Jehovah your God choose to put im name. 3 You must go meet the priest wey go de serve that time* and tell-am say, ‘Today I de tell Jehovah your God say I don come inside the land wey Jehovah swear to our papa-papa them to give us.’
4 “Then the priest go take the basket from your hand and keep-am for front of the altar of Jehovah your God. 5 Then you go talk for front of Jehovah your God say, ‘My papa na A′ram person wey be de waka-waka from place to place,* and e go down to Egypt and live for there as stranger with small number of people for im family. But for there e come be great nation wey strong and plenty. 6 And Egypt people no treat us well, them suffer us and force us to do hard work as slaves. 7 So we start to cry to Jehovah the God of our papa-papa them, and Jehovah hear our voice and see our suffer and our trouble and how them de treat us for bad way. 8 At last, Jehovah bring us come out from Egypt with strong hand and powerful hand* and with things wey de make person fear and with signs and miracles. 9 Then e bring us come this place and give us this land, land wey milk and honey de flow for inside. 10 Now I don bring the firstfruits wey come from the ground wey Jehovah don give me.’
“You must put-am for front of Jehovah your God and bow down for front of Jehovah your God. 11 Then you go de happy for all the good things wey Jehovah your God don give you and your family, you and the Levite and the stranger wey de live with una.
12 “When you don collect all the tenth part of the things wey your land produce, for the third year wey be the year of the tenth part, you go give-am to the Levite, the stranger wey de live for the land, the pikin wey no get papa,* and the widow, and them go chop belleful for inside your cities.* 13 Then you go talk for front of Jehovah your God say, ‘I don remove the holy things comot from my house and give-am to the Levite, the stranger wey de live for the land, the pikin wey no get papa, and the widow, just as you don command me. I never break or leave your commandments. 14 I never chop from-am when I de mourn or remove any of-am when I no dey clean, or give any of-am make them use for something wey concern person wey don die. I don obey the voice of Jehovah my God and I don do everything wey you command me. 15 Now make you look down from the holy place wey you de stay, wey be the heavens, and bless your people Israel and the land wey you don give us, just as you don swear to our papa-papa them, the land wey milk and honey de flow for inside.’
16 “Today Jehovah your God de command you to follow this laws and decisions. You must obey them and follow them with all your heart and all your soul.* 17 Today Jehovah don tell you say e go be your God, as you de always do the things wey e want, and obey im laws, im commandments, and im decisions, and as you de listen to im voice. 18 And today you don tell Jehovah say una go be im people, im special property,* just as e don promise you, and say you go obey all im commandments 19 and say e go raise you high pass all the other nations wey e don make, wey go make you get praise and make people know you well-well and give you glory as you de show say una be people wey dey holy to Jehovah una God, just as e don promise.”
