24 When Ba′laam see say e sweet* Jehovah to bless Israel, e no comot again to go look for bad signs, but e turn face the wilderness. 2 When Ba′laam look and see Israel as im tribes settle for camp, then the spirit of God enter-am. 3 Then e talk this proverb say:
“The thing wey Ba′laam the son of Be′or talk,
And the thing wey man wey them don open im eye talk,
4 The thing wey the person wey de hear the word of God talk,
Person wey see vision of the Almighty,
Person wey bow down with im eyes wey open:
5 Your tents fine no be small, O Jacob,
And your tabernacles too, O Israel!
6 Like the lowlands* them don stretch go far,
Like gardens for the side of river,
Like aloe plants wey Jehovah don plant,
Like cedar trees for the side of water.
7 Water continue to come out small-small from im two leather buckets,
And them plant im seed* for the side of plenty water.
Im king too go big pass A′gag,
And them go raise im kingdom high.
8 God de bring-am come out from Egypt;
E be like the horns of bush bull for them.
E go chop the nations, the people wey de suffer-am,
And e go chew their bones, and e go scatter them with im arrows.
9 E don bend for ground, e don lie down like the lion,
And like lion, who fit try to wake-am?
People wey de bless you go get blessing,
And people wey de curse you go get curse.”
10 Then Ba′lak vex for Ba′laam no be small. Ba′lak vex clap im hands together and tell Ba′laam say: “I call you to curse my enemies, but now you no do anything, instead you bless them this three times. 11 Now go house quick-quick, I plan to honor you for big way, but see! Jehovah don make you lose honor.”
12 Ba′laam tell Ba′lak say: “I no tell the messengers wey you send say, 13 ‘Even if Ba′lak give me im own house wey silver and gold full inside, I no go fit use my own mind* do anything pass wetin Jehovah don command, whether na good thing or bad thing. I go only talk wetin Jehovah go tell me’? 14 And now I de comot go meet my people. Come and make I advice you about wetin this people go do to your people for future.”* 15 So e talk this proverb say:
“The thing wey Ba′laam the son of Be′or talk,
And the thing wey man wey them don open im eye talk,
16 The thing wey the person wey de hear the word of God talk,
And the person wey know the things from the Person Wey High Pass,
E see vision of the Almighty
As e bow down with im eyes wey open:
17 I go see-am, but no be now;
I go look-am, but no be now-now.
Star go come out from Jacob,
And king rod go rise come out from Israel.
And e go surely break the forehead of Mo′ab*
And the skull of all the sons of trouble.
18 And e go take E′dom as im property,
True-true, Se′ir go be the property of im enemies,
As Israel de show im strong heart.
19 And person go come out from Jacob wey go de win de go,
And e go destroy anybody wey survive from the city.”
20 When e see Am′a·lek, e continue to talk im proverb say:
“Am′a·lek be dey first among the nations,
But for the end, e go die.”
21 When e see Ken′ite people, e continue to talk im proverb say:
“The place wey you de stay get protection, and the place wey you de stay arrange ontop rock.
22 But person go burn Ka′in reach ground.
How long e go take before As·syr′i·a go carry you comot as slave?”
23 And e continue to talk im proverb say:
“Trouble! Who go survive when God do this thing?
24 Ships go come from the place wey near sea for Kit′tim,
And them go suffer As·syr′i·a,
And them go suffer E′ber.
But e go die finish too.”
25 Then Ba′laam ready, e comot and go back to im own place. Ba′lak comot go im own direction too.
