17 One man wey im name na Miʹcah dey for the area wey mountains dey for Eʹphra·im. 2 E tell im mama say: “The 1,100 pieces of silver wey them take from you wey I hear as you curse the person wey take-am—see! the silver dey with me. Na me take-am.” So im mama talk say: “Make Jehovah bless you my son.” 3 So e give the 1,100 pieces of silver back to im mama, but im mama talk say: “I go surely make this silver from my hand dey holy to Jehovah so that my son go use-am make image wey them carve and image wey them make with metal.* Now I de give-am back to you.”

4 After e give the silver back to im mama, im mama take 200 pieces of silver and give them to person wey de use silver make things. E make image wey them carve and image wey them make with metal;* and them put them for Miʹcah house. 5 This man Miʹcah get house wey e de worship im idol gods,* and e make ephʹod and teraphim images* and choose* one of im sons to serve as priest for-am. 6 That time, no king dey Israel. Each person de do wetin correct for im own eye.*

7 E get one young man from Bethʹle·hem wey dey Judah, wey come from the family of Judah. E be Levite wey don de live for there for some time. 8 The man comot from the city of Bethʹle·hem wey dey Judah to go find place wey e go stay. As e de travel, e reach the area wey mountains dey for Eʹphra·im, for Miʹcah house. 9 Then Miʹcah ask-am say: “Where you come from?” E answer say: “I be Levite from Bethʹle·hem wey dey Judah, and I dey road to go find place wey I go stay.” 10 So Miʹcah tell-am say: “Stay with me and work as papa* and priest for me. I go give you ten pieces of silver each year and cloths wey you go need and your food.” So the Levite go inside. 11 So the Levite agree to stay with Miʹcah, and the young man come be like one of Miʹcah sons. 12 And Miʹcah choose* the Levite to serve as priest for-am, and e live for the house of Miʹcah. 13 Then Miʹcah talk say: “Now I know say Jehovah go treat me well, because the Levite don be my priest.”
