2 For the seventh month, for the 21st day of the month, Jehovah send prophet Hag′gai make e talk say, 2 “Abeg ask Ze·rub′ba·bel, the governor of Judah wey be the son of She·al′ti·el, and Joshua the high priest wey be the son of Je·hoz′a·dak, and the other people say: 3 ‘Who remain among una wey see the kind glory wey this house* get before? How e be for una eye now? Una no see say e no be anything when them compare-am with how e be before?’
4 “Jehovah talk say, ‘But now, dey strong Ze·rub′ba·bel, and dey strong Joshua the high priest, son of Je·hoz′a·dak.’
“Jehovah still talk say, ‘Make una dey strong, all of una wey dey the land, and make una work.’
“‘Because I dey with una,’ na so Jehovah of armies talk. 5 ‘Remember wetin I promise una when una come out from Egypt, and my spirit still dey with una.* Make una no fear.’”
6 “Because na wetin Jehovah of armies talk be this, ‘Small time, I go shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land again.’
7 “Jehovah of armies talk say, ‘And I go shake all the nations, and all the better-better things for all the nations go come inside; and I go make glory full this house.’
8 “‘Na me get silver, na me get gold,’ na so Jehovah of armies talk.
9 “‘The glory wey this house go get for future go pass the one wey the former house get,’ na so Jehovah of armies talk.
“‘And I go make peace dey for this place,’ na so Jehovah of armies talk.”
10 For the 24th day, for the ninth month, for the second year wey Da·ri′us de rule, Jehovah tell prophet Hag′gai say: 11 “Na wetin Jehovah of armies talk be this, ‘Abeg, ask the priests this question about the law: 12 “If person carry holy meat inside im cloth, and im cloth touch bread or stew or wine or oil or any kind of food, e go make wetin e touch dey holy?”’”
The priests answer say: “No!”
13 Hag′gai come ask say: “If person wey no dey clean because e don touch dead body* touch any of this things, e go make wetin e touch no dey clean?”
The priests answer say: “E go make-am no dey clean.”
14 So Hag′gai talk say: “Jehovah talk say, ‘Na so this people be, and na so this nation be for my eye, and na so everything wey them de do* be. Anything wey them bring no dey clean.’
15 “‘But now, abeg, from today go, make una really think about this one: Before them put one stone ontop another stone for the temple of Jehovah, 16 how e be that time? When person come the place wey them gather grain keep and de expect say e go get 20 bags,* na only 10 e see, and when person come place wey them de make wine to collect 50 jars* of wine from there, na only 20 e see collect.’ 17 Jehovah talk say, ‘I punish una, I spoil all the things wey una don do with strong heat, plant disease,* and ice blocks wey de fall like rain, but even one person among una no come back to me.’
18 “‘Abeg, make una really think about this one from today go, from the 24th day, for the ninth month, wey be the day wey una make the foundation of the temple of Jehovah; make una really think about this one: 19 Any seed don dey for the storehouse?* The vine, the fig, the pomegranate, and the olive tree, them never produce any fruit, or them don produce? From today, I go de bless una.’”
20 For the 24th day of the month, Jehovah tell Hag′gai for the second time say: 21 “Tell Ze·rub′ba·bel, the governor of Judah say, ‘I go shake the heavens and the earth. 22 I go destroy the throne of kings and I go comot the power wey the kingdoms of the nations get; I go destroy the chariot and the people wey de ride-am, and the horse them and the people wey de ride them go fall, them go use sword kill each other.’”
23 “Jehovah of armies talk say, ‘For that day, I go take you my servant Ze·rub′ba·bel, the son of She·al′ti·el,’ na so Jehovah talk, ‘and I go make you be like special ring,* because na you be the person wey I don choose,’ na so Jehovah of armies talk.”
