5 Then Jehovah tell Moses say: 6 “Bring the tribe of Le′vi come front, and make them stand for front of Aaron the priest, and them go de help-am for the work wey e de do. 7 Them go do their work wey them suppose do for-am and for all Israel people for front of the tent of meeting, as them de do their work for the tabernacle. 8 Them go take care of all the things wey them de use for the tent of meeting, and do their work wey them suppose do for Israel people as them de do their work for the tabernacle. 9 Una go give the Levites to Aaron and im sons. 11 Jehovah continue to talk to Moses say: 12 “See! As for me, I take the Levites from among Israel people to represent all the firstborn* of Israel people and the Levites go be my own. 13 Because every firstborn na my own. For the day wey I kill all the firstborn for the land of Egypt, I make every firstborn for Israel dey holy to me, whether na human or animal. Them go be my own. I be Jehovah.”

32 The head of the chiefs of the Levites na El·e·a′zar the son of Aaron the priest, wey be overseer of the people wey de care for the different-different work for the holy place.

33 Na from Me·rar′i the family of Mah′li and the family of Mu′shi come from. This ones na the families of Me·rar′i. 34 The number of all the men from one month go up wey them register na 6,200. 35 The chief of the family group from their papa side, of the families of Me·rar′i na Zu′ri·el the son of Ab′i·ha·il. Their camp dey for the north side of the tabernacle. 36 The work wey the sons of Me·rar′i de do na to care for the frames for the tabernacle, im long sticks, im pillars, im base them, all the things wey dey inside, and all the work wey them de use this things do, 37 together with the pillars wey surround the compound and their base them, their tent pins, and their tent ropes.

38 The people wey put their tents for front of the tabernacle for the side wey face the east, for front of the tent of meeting wey face the side wey sun de come out from, na Moses and Aaron and im sons. Their work na to take care of the holy place for Israel people. Anybody wey no get the right to come,* wey come near, make una kill-am.

39 All men wey be Levites from one month go up wey Moses and Aaron don register according to their families as Jehovah don command, na 22,000.

40 Then Jehovah tell Moses say: “Register all the firstborn wey be men among Israel people, from one month go up, count them and make list of their names. 41 You must take the Levites for me to represent all the firstborn of Israel people. I be Jehovah. And take the animals* wey the Levites get, to represent all the firstborn of the animals wey Israel people get.” 42 Then Moses register all the firstborn among the Israel people, just as Jehovah don command-am. 43 The number of all the firstborn wey be men wey them register according to their name from one month go up na 22,273.

44 Jehovah continue to talk to Moses, say: 45 “Take the Levites to represent all the firstborn among Israel people, and take the animals* wey the Levites get, to represent the animals wey Israel people get, and the Levites must be my own. I be Jehovah. 46 As the price to buy the 273 firstborn of Israel people wey plenty pass the Levites, 47 you go take five shekels* for each person, according to the shekel wey them de normally use for the holy place.* One shekel na 20 ge′rahs.* 48 You go give the money to Aaron and im sons as price to buy the people wey plenty pass them.” 49 So Moses take the money wey them give as price to buy the people wey plenty pass the Levites. 50 E take the money from the firstborn of Israel people, 1,365 shekels, according to the shekel wey them de normally use for the holy place. 51 Then Moses give the money wey them use buy the people as price to Aaron and im sons, according to the word* of Jehovah, just as Jehovah don command Moses.
