The Second Book of Chronicles
32 After this things don happen and after Hez·e·ki′ah don do all this better work, Sen·nach′er·ib wey be king of As·syr′i·a come, and e attack Judah. E surround the cities wey get strong protection with the mind to break enter and take over the cities.
2 When Hez·e·ki′ah see say Sen·nach′er·ib don come with the mind to fight against Jerusalem, 3 e decide say e go block the place them wey water de come out from for outside the city after e don talk with im leaders and im strong soldiers, and them support-am. 4 So them gather plenty people and them block all the place wey water de come out from and the stream wey de flow for the land. Them talk say: “Why the kings of As·syr′i·a go come and them go see plenty water?”
5 Another thing be say e make up im mind and e build the whole wall wey don fall down back again and build towers ontop-am, and e build another wall for outside. E still repair the Hill* wey dey the City of David, and e make plenty weapons and shields. 6 Then e choose people wey de control the army to lead the people, and e gather them for the public place wey dey the city gate and encourage them,* e talk say: 7 “Make una get strong heart and dey strong. Make una no fear or de shake because of the king of As·syr′i·a and all the plenty people wey dey with-am, because the ones wey dey with us plenty pass the ones wey dey with-am. 8 Na ordinary people de give-am power,* but na Jehovah our God dey with us to help us and fight our battles.” And wetin Hez·e·ki′ah wey be king of Judah talk make the people strong.
9 After this one, as Sen·nach′er·ib wey be king of As·syr′i·a dey La′chish with all the powerful people wey dey with-am, e send im servants make them go Jerusalem go meet Hez·e·ki′ah wey be king of Judah and all Ju·de′a people for Jerusalem, and tell them say:
10 “This na wetin Sen·nach′er·ib wey be king of As·syr′i·a talk, ‘Na wetin una de trust, wey make una still dey Jerusalem as them don surround-am so? 11 No be deceive Hez·e·ki′ah de deceive una and want make hunger and dry throat kill una as e de talk say: “Jehovah our God go save us from the hand of the king of As·syr′i·a”? 12 No be this same Hez·e·ki′ah wey comot una God* high place* them and Im altars and then tell Judah and Jerusalem say: “Make una bow down for front of one altar and na ontop-am una go make una sacrifice them smoke”? 13 Una no know wetin me and my papa-papa them do all the people of the lands? The gods of the nations of those lands fit save their land from my hand? 14 Among all the gods of this nations wey my papa-papa them be destroy, which one fit save im people from my hands, wey una God go come fit save una from my hand? 15 See, make una no let Hez·e·ki′ah deceive una or lead una enter bush like this! Make una no trust-am, because no god of any nation or kingdom don fit save im people from my hand and from the hand of my papa-papa them. So na una own God go fit save una from my hand?’”
16 Im servants even talk wetin pass that one against Jehovah the true God and against Hez·e·ki′ah im servant. 17 E still write letters to curse Jehovah the God of Israel and to talk against-am, e talk say: “Just as the gods of the nations of the lands wey no fit save their people from my hand, na so the God of Hez·e·ki′ah no go fit save im people from my hand.” 18 Them continue to use the language of Jew people de talk with loud voice to the people of Jerusalem wey dey ontop the wall, to make them fear and make them shake so that them go fit take over the city. 19 Them talk against the God of Jerusalem the same way wey them talk against the gods of the people of the earth, wey be the things wey man make. 20 But King Hez·e·ki′ah and prophet Isaiah wey be the son of A′moz continue to pray about this matter and de cry to God for heaven say make e help them.
21 Then Jehovah send one angel and e kill every strong warrior, leader, and chief wey dey the camp of the king of As·syr′i·a, this one come make-am go back to im own land with shame. After, e enter the house* of im god, and some of im own sons use sword kill-am for there. 22 So Jehovah save Hez·e·ki′ah and the people wey de stay for Jerusalem from the hand of Sen·nach′er·ib wey be king of As·syr′i·a, and from the hand of all other people and e give them peace for every side. 23 And many people bring gifts come give Jehovah for Jerusalem, and them bring better-better things come give Hez·e·ki′ah wey be king of Judah, and after this one, people for all the nations come de respect-am well-well.
24 That time, Hez·e·ki′ah come de sick sotey the sickness want kill-am, and e pray to Jehovah wey answer-am and give-am one sign. 25 But Hez·e·ki′ah no do wetin show say e like the good things wey them don do for-am, because e start to carry shoulder,* and this one make God really vex for-am and Judah and Jerusalem. 26 But, Hez·e·ki′ah bring imself down and stop to carry shoulder,* im and the people wey de stay for Jerusalem, and Jehovah no punish them for the time of Hez·e·ki′ah.
27 Hez·e·ki′ah come get plenty money and people de respect-am no be small and e build storehouse them for imself to keep silver, gold, fine-fine stones, balsam oil, shields, and to keep all the better-better things. 28 E still build place them wey them de keep grain, new wine and oil, plus the place wey them de keep all kind of animals wey them de keep for house, and the place wey them de keep sheep and goats. 29 E still build cities for imself, and e get plenty animals wey them de keep for house, sheep and goats, and other group of animals, because God give-am plenty-plenty property. 30 Na Hez·e·ki′ah block the place for up wey the water of Gi′hon de come from, and e make-am flow go down straight go the west side to the City of David, and Hez·e·ki′ah succeed for all the work wey e do. 31 But when them send the messengers of the leaders of Babylon go ask-am about the sign wey happen for the land, the true God leave-am make e do wetin e want do by imself, to test-am so that e go know all the things wey dey im heart.
32 As for the other story about Hez·e·ki′ah and the things wey e do wey show say e get love wey no de fail, them write them for the book wey the vision of prophet Isaiah wey be son of A′moz dey, for the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel. 33 Then Hez·e·ki′ah die like im papa-papa them, and them bury-am for the hill wey them take de go the place them wey them bury the sons of David, and all the people of Judah, and the people wey de stay for Jerusalem honor-am when e die. And im son Ma·nas′seh start to rule as king after-am.
