FINE-FINE LESSON FROM BIBLE | GENESIS 44-45
“Joseph Forgive E Brothers”
(Genesis 44:1, 2) Later, e tell the man wey de control things for e house say: “Fill the bag of the men with plenty food, give them plenty food as they fit carry, and put back their money for their bag. 2 But you must put my cup, the silver cup, inside the bag of their small brother, with the money for e food.” So e do as Joseph talk.
w15 5/1 14-15
“I Be God?”
Then, Joseph do wetin e plan. E send e servant make e pursue e brothers, arrest them and talk say they don thief e cup. When the servant see the cup inside the bag of Benjamin, e take Joseph brothers back to Egypt, go meet Joseph. Now, Joseph go fit know the kind people wey e brothers be. Na Judah talk for all of them. E beg Joseph say make e forgive them and say all of them go become slave for Egypt. But Joseph no gree. E tell them say na only Benjamin go stay for Egypt as slave, but the rest must go.—Genesis 44:2-17.
The next thing wey Judah talk really show say e get feeling for Benjamin. E tell Joseph say: ‘Na only two pikin e mama born and na only this one remain, and e papa really love-am.’ Wetin Judah talk really touch Joseph because na Rachel born Joseph and Benjamin. But Rachel die when e de born Benjamin. Rachel na the wife wey Jacob really love. E clear say Joseph still de remember Rachel just as Jacob de remember-am. E fit be say na this one make Joseph really love Benjamin.—Genesis 35:18-20; 44:20.
Judah continue to beg Joseph say make e free Benjamin. Judah even talk say e ready to be slave instead of Benjamin. The last thing wey Judah talk really touch Joseph. E talk say: ‘How I fit go back to my papa if the boy no follow me go back? I no go fit bear-am to see the pain wey my papa go get!’ (Genesis 44:18-34) Wetin Judah talk show say e don really change. E no only show say e don repent, but e still show say e don get some good character like, to really feel for person, to put other people problem before e own and to really feel pity for person.
Joseph no fit hold e self again. Tears don full e eyes. So, e send all e servant out, and e cry sotey people hear e voice for Pharaoh palace. Then, e tell e brothers who e really be. E tell them say: “I be Joseph wuna brother.” E brothers really surprise, so Joseph embrace them and forgive them for all the things wey them do. (Genesis 45:1-15) Joseph copy Jehovah example. Jehovah na God wey de really forgive. (Psalm 86:5) We de forgive like Jehovah?
(Genesis 44:33, 34) So, abeg, allow your slave make e stay and be slave of my master instead of the boy, so that the boy fit go back with e brothers. 34 How I fit go back to my papa if the boy no follow me? I no go fit bear-am to see the pain wey my papa go get!”
(Genesis 45:4, 5) So Joseph tell e brothers say: “Abeg, make wuna come near me.” Then, they near Joseph. Then e talk say: “I be Joseph wuna brother, wey wuna sell and they carry me go Egypt. 5 But make wuna no vex and make wuna no blame each other because wuna sell me here; because God send me to come here first before wuna to save life.

(Genesis 44:13) Then they tear their cloth, and all of them one by one carry their load put for their donkey and they go back to the city.

Why People for Bible Time De Tear Their Cloth?
For plenty Jews and other people that time, them de tear their cloth as sign say they no happy. This one de happen especially when they hear say their family member don die. Many times when they tear their cloth, na just the front them de tear and na only their chest go show. They no de tear the cloth sotey e no let them wear again.
The first person wey Bible talk say e tear e cloth by e self na Reuben. Reuben na the first son of Jacob. Reuben tear e cloth the time wey e see say Joseph no dey inside the waterpit again. So e tear e cloth and talk say: ‘The pikin no dey there again! And me—wetin I go do?’ As the first son, na Reuben dey in charge of e younger brother. When them tell their papa say Joseph don die, Jacob tear e own cloth, wear sackcloth, and really cry say e pikin don die. (Ge 37:29, 30, 34) And for Egypt, Joseph brothers tear their cloth when them see the cup for inside Benjamin bag.—Ge 44:13.
(Genesis 45:5-8) But make wuna no vex and make wuna no blame each other because wuna sell me here; because God send me to come here first before wuna to save life. 6 This one na the second year of the hunger for the land, and e go still reach five years wey nobody go plant or harvest. 7 But God send me to come here first before wuna, to keep some people alive for wuna for this earth and to save wuna so that wuna no go die. 8 So, no be wuna send me come here, but na the true God send me here, to make me as the number one person wey de give advice to Pharaoh and as lord for e house and e make me to rule all the land of Egypt.

They Go Hate Servants of Jehovah for No Reason
15 Wetin go help us make we no de vex for people wey hate us for nothing? Make we remember say na Satan and e demons be our main enemy. (Ephesians 6:12) Na true say some people wey de suffer servants of Jehovah, de do-am because na wetin them plan to do. But plenty people de suffer servants of Jehovah because them no really know who we be. Or because other people de tell them to do-am. (Daniel 6:4-16; 1 Timothy 1:12, 13) Jehovah want make all kind of people learn the truth from Bible so that them go save. (1 Timothy 2:4) True-true, some people wey de suffer servants of Jehovah before, don start to worship Jehovah now. This one na because of our good character wey them see. (1 Peter 2:12) Another thing be say, all of us fit learn from the example of Joseph. Even though say Joseph really suffer because of the things wey e brothers do, e no ever carry e brothers for mind. Why? Because e really understand say Jehovah de control wetin de happen, and say Jehovah go fit change things so that wetin E want go happen. (Genesis 45:4-8) Jehovah go fit still do-am so that even if we de suffer because of partial, for the end, e go bring praise to Jehovah.—1 Peter 4:16.

“Joseph Save E Family From Hunger”
(Genesis 47:13) Food no dey for all the land, because the hunger really serious, and the hunger finish the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan.
w87 5/1 15 ¶2
Joseph Save People When Serious Hunger Dey
2 After the seven years of plenty food don pass, the seven years of hunger start just as Jehovah talk. No be only for Egypt, but for the whole earth. When the people of Egypt don really hungry, them cry go meet Pharaoh. Then Pharaoh tell them say make them go meet Joseph, and do anything wey e say make them do. Joseph sell seed to the people of Egypt until their money finish. When their money finish, them start de use their animal pay for food. At last, them meet Joseph again and beg-am say: “Buy us and our land and give us food. And we go be slave for Pharaoh and our land go be e own.” So Joseph buy all the land from Egypt people for Pharaoh.—Genesis 41:53-57; 47:13-20.
(Genesis 47:16) So Joseph tell them say: “If wuna money don finish, make wuna bring wuna animal. I go collect-am and give wuna food.”
(Genesis 47:19, 20) Why we go die when you dey here? And why our land go just go like that? Make you buy us and our land and give us food. And we go be slave for Pharaoh and our land go be e own. Give us seed so that we no go die and our land no go waste. 20 So Joseph buy all the land from Egypt people for Pharaoh. Everybody for Egypt sell e land because the hunger really serious. Na so all the land become Pharaoh own.
(Genesis 47:23-25) So Joseph tell the people say: “See, I don buy wuna and wuna land today, for Pharaoh. Make wuna take seed and plant them for the land. 24 When e produce, make wuna share-am to five part and give Pharaoh one part. But four part go be wuna own. Wuna go chop from-am, with wuna pikin them and everybody for wuna house, and keep some wey wuna go plant.” 25 So them tell Joseph say: “You don save our life. So make you accept us as slave to Pharaoh.”
kr 234-235 ¶11-12
God Go Use E Kingdom Do Wetin E Want for This Earth
11 Plenty Good Things Go Dey. People for this world de suffer as them no de learn from Jehovah and do wetin e want. Jehovah the King wey High Pass talk for Bible say: ‘See! Time de come when I go send hunger to the land. E no go be hunger for food or water, but for the word of Jehovah.’ (Amos 8:11) This kind hunger no de affect the people wey go enter the Kingdom of God! Jehovah talk wetin go be the difference between e people and e enemy them. E talk say: ‘See! My people go chop, but wuna go hungry. See! My people go drink, but wuna no go see water drink. See! My people go happy, but shame go catch wuna.’ (Isa. 65:13) You don see how this promise wey Jehovah make for this verse de happen?
12 The things wey Jehovah de give us to make our faith strong, just de plenty and de flow like deep and wide river. We get books, audio recordings and videos, meetings and conventions and plenty things for jw.org. All this plenty things de help us near Jehovah even for this world wey people no know God. (Ezek. 47:1-12; Joel 3:18) You no happy say Jehovah de give you all this things as e don promise? You de do your best to use this things learn from Jehovah every time?
Fine-Fine Things Wey You See for Bible
(Genesis 46:4) I go follow you go Egypt, and I go still bring you back from there, and Joseph go use e hand cover your eyes when you die.”

Things Wey People for Bible Time Do and Their Meaning
To use hand cover the eye of person wey don die. For Genesis 46:4, Jehovah tell Jacob say: “Joseph go use e hand cover your eyes when you die.” Na firstborn de normally do this work when their papa die. So e be like say Jehovah de tell Jacob say na Joseph go get the right of first son.—1Ch 5:2.
(Genesis 46:26, 27) All the people wey go Egypt with Jacob apart from the wives of e sons, na 66. 27 The sons wey Joseph born for Egypt na two. All the people for the house of Jacob wey enter Egypt na 70.
nwtsty study note for: Ac 7: 14
All of them na 75 people: E fit be say Stephen no quote from any place for Hebrew Scriptures when e talk say na 75 people from Jacob family go Egypt. And this number no dey the Masoretic text of the Hebrew Scriptures. Genesis 46:26 talk say: “All the people wey go Egypt with Jacob apart from the wives of e sons, na 66.” And for verse 27, e talk say: “All the people for the house of Jacob wey enter Egypt na 70.” For here, na two different way them count the people wey enter Egypt. E fit be say for the first number, them count only Jacob pikin them and grand pikin them. And the second number fit be all the people for e family wey enter Egypt. Exodus 1:5 and Deuteronomy 10:22, still talk say the number of all the people for Jacob family na “70.” As Stephen talk say na 75 people from Jacob family enter Egypt, e fit be say e add other people for Jacob family join the number. Some people talk say Manasseh and Ephraim pikin them and their grand pikin them join for this number. Manasseh and Ephraim na Joseph two pikin. And the Septuagint translation talk about them for Genesis 46:20. But other people talk say all the wife of Jacob sons wey Genesis 46:26 no talk about, dey among this 75. So, e fit be say the total number of people wey enter Egypt na “75.” E fit be say this number dey the Hebrew Scriptures wey plenty people for the time of the apostles, get. For plenty years, some professors know say na “75” dey the Greek Septuagint for Genesis 46:27 and Exodus 1:5. Another thing na say around 1950, they see two Dead Sea Scroll wey concern Exodus 1:5 for Hebrew language. They still write for the Scroll say the number of people for Jacob family na “75.” E fit be say Stephen get that number from one of this ones wey talk say the number na 75. No matter the one wey correct pass, the number wey Stephen talk, de show another way to count all the people wey dey Jacob family.

“We Fit Really Learn From Old People for Congregation”
(Genesis 48:21, 22) Then Israel tell Joseph say: “See, I de die, but God go always dey with wuna and e go take wuna back to the land of wuna grandpapa them. 22 As for me, the land wey I de give you, big pass your brothers own with one plot. I take this land from the Amʹor·ites the time wey I fight them with my sword and bow.”
it-1 1246 ¶8
Jacob
Small time before Jacob die, e bless the two children wey Joseph born for Egypt. Their name na Manasseh and Ephraim. Manasseh senior Ephraim. But Jehovah spirit, make Jacob put e right hand ontop Ephraim and e left hand ontop Manasseh as e de bless them. Then e tell Joseph wey go get the double portion of firstborn, say: “The land wey I de give you, big pass your brothers own with one plot. I take this land from the Amorites the time wey I fight them with my sword and bow.” (Ge 48:1-22; 1Ch 5:1) Why Jacob talk say e use e sword and bow get the land near Shechem, when e no fight with the sons of Hamor? (Ge 33:19, 20) E be like say this thing wey Jacob promise Joseph, de show the kind faith wey Jacob get. Wetin e talk show say for future, e grand-pikin them go fight, win and take over the land of Canaan. So e talk this promise like say e don already happen. And like say e do-am by e self with e sword and bow. (Go check AMORITE.) The double portion wey Joseph get when Israel people take over the land of Canaan, na the two land wey they give the tribe of Ephraim and Manasseh.
(Genesis 49:1) After, Jacob call all e sons and tell them say: “Make wuna come together make I tell wuna wetin go happen to wuna for the last days.
it-2 206 ¶1
Last Days
Jacob Talk About the Future of E Children Just Before E Die. Small time before Jacob die, e tell e sons says: “Make wuna come together make I tell wuna wetin go happen to wuna for the last days” or “the time wey de come” (AT). Which last days e de talk about? Na the time for future when the things wey e talk go start de happen. (Ge 49:1) Two hundred years before Jacob talk this things, Jehovah tell Abram (Abraham), Jacob grandpapa say e pikin them go suffer as slave for 400 years. (Ge 15:13) So, the “last days” or future time wey Jacob talk about, no fit start until the 400 years of suffer don end. (If you want learn more about Genesis 49, read the topics wey concern the sons of Jacob one by one.) And we still expect say this things wey Jacob talk, still concern the future of the “Israel of God.”—Ga 6:16; Ro 9:6.
(Genesis 50:24, 25) At last, Joseph tell e brothers say: “I de die, but God go surely remember wuna and take wuna out of this land, go the land wey e swear say e go give Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” 25 So Joseph tell the sons of Israel say: “God go surely remember wuna and take wuna out of this land. So make wuna swear say wuna must carry my bone when wuna de comot for this place.”
w07 6/1 28 ¶10
Old People Na Blessing for Young People
10 The faith wey old people for congregation get, fit still help other people for congregation. When Joseph the son of Jacob don old, e do something wey show say e get strong faith. Wetin e do, really affect the faith of plenty servants of Jehovah, many years after e die. When e dey 110 years, e make e brothers swear say they must take e bone comot when them de comot from Egypt. (Hebrews 11:22; Genesis 50:25) After Joseph die, this command still give Israel people hope all the years wey they work as slave for Egypt, say one-day one-day, they go get freedom.

People Wey De Worship God Go Get Blessing
4 Before Israel people enter the Promise Land, the tribe of Gad, beg Moses say they want stay for the east of Jordan. This part of the land good for animals. (Numbers 32:1-5) But they go face plenty problem because of how the area be. The tribes of Israel wey stay for the west of Jordan no face this kind problem. They get the Jordan Valley and this one de make-am hard for enemy to attack them. (Joshua 3:13-17) George Adam Smith talk about the lands wey dey the east of Jordan for e book, The Historical Geography of the Holy Land. E talk say: “The whole land just dey ontop the big flat highland for Arabia. Because of this one, strangers wey de waka from place to place de find food, de always attack them. And some of this people de attack them every year because them de find grass for their animals.”
5 Wetin the tribe of Gad go do as people de always attack them? Plenty years before this time, Jacob their grandpapa talk wetin go happen. E talk say: “As for Gad, thief people go attack-am but e go run after them and attack them back.” (Genesis 49:19) Wetin Jacob talk just be like say e de tell them say make they attack enemy wey come attack them. E make them know say if they attack enemy wey come attack them, the enemy go run.
(Genesis 49:27) “Benjamin go continue to attack e enemy them like wolf. For morning e go chop wetin e don catch, and for evening e go share wetin e collect from them.”
it-1 289 ¶2
Benjamin
Wetin Jacob talk about Benjamin show say the children of Benjamin go really sabi fight. E talk say: “Benjamin go continue to attack e enemy them like wolf. For morning e go chop wetin e don catch, and for evening e go share wetin e collect from them.” (Ge 49:27) Bible talk say the children of Benjamin wey de fight for Israel army, sabi use sling throw stone. Them fit use their right hand or left hand throw the stone, and they no de ever miss their target. (Jg 20:16; 1Ch 12:2) Judge Ehud wey kill King Eglon because e de oppress Israel people, come from the tribe of Benjamin, and na left-handed man. (Jg 3:15-21) When the kingdom of Israel start, e just be like “morning” time. Make we still remember say, the first king wey rule them, come from the tribe of Benjamin wey small pass for the whole Israel. E name na Saul the son of Kish. And Saul really fight against the Philistines. (1Sa 9:15-17, 21) Na the same thing happen when Israel people dey their “evening” time, or when them no get king again. Queen Esther and Prime Minister Mordecai, wey come from the tribe of Benjamin, save them from the Persian government wey for destroy all of them.—Es 2:5-7.

“I Go Be Wetin I Choose to Be”
(Exodus 3:13) But Moses ask the true God say: “What if I go meet the people of Israel and tell them say ‘the God of wuna grandpapa them send me to wuna,’ and them ask me say, ‘Wetin be e name?’ Wetin I go tell them?”
w13 3/15 25 ¶4
Honor the Name of God
4 Read Exodus 3:10-15. When Moses dey 80 years, God give-am big work. God tell Moses say: ‘You go bring my people come out from Egypt.’ With respect Moses ask Jehovah one important question say: ‘If Israel people ask me say, wetin be your name, wetin I go tell them?’ Why Moses ask this question even though say Israel people don know the name of God before? E dey clear say Moses want really know more about the kind God wey Jehovah be. Because this one go make Israel people really dey sure say Jehovah go save them. We understand why Moses de worry. Israel people don be slave for plenty years. So them fit even de doubt whether Jehovah the God wey their papa-papa worship, go fit save them. Even self, some Israel people don start de worship the gods of Egypt!—Ezek. 20:7, 8.
(Exodus 3:14) So God tell Moses say: “I Go Be Wetin I Want Be.” E still talk say: “Make you tell Israel people say, ‘na I Go Be, send me to wuna.’”
kr 43, box
THE MEANING OF THE NAME OF GOD
THIS name Jehovah, come from one Hebrew word wey mean “to become.” Because of this one, plenty people believe say that name Jehovah mean say God fit become anything wey e want be, to make wetin e want happen. This name really fit Jehovah as e be say na Jehovah make everything. Na Jehovah make heaven, earth, angels and people. And e still de make sure say everything wey e want happen.
For Exodus 3:13, 14, Moses ask Jehovah say: “What if I go meet the people of Israel and tell them say ‘the God of wuna grandpapa them send me to wuna,’ and them ask me say, ‘Wetin be e name?’ Wetin I go tell them?” Jehovah answer Moses say: “I Go Be Wetin I Want Be.” Wetin we understand from the answer wey Jehovah give Moses?
Make we know say Moses no de talk say make God tell-am e name. Moses and Israel people don already know the name of God. Moses want make Jehovah tell-am the kind God wey e be. If Moses know the kind God wey Jehovah be, e go make e faith strong more-more. E go still help-am know wetin the name of God mean. So as Jehovah answer Moses say: “I Go Be Wetin I Want Be,” Jehovah de help Moses see something wey really de special about e name. For any condition, Jehovah de become anything wey e need, to fit do wetin e want. For example, Jehovah become their Savior, Person wey give them law and wey give them wetin them need. And Jehovah still do plenty other things for them. So Jehovah de be anything wey e need to be, so that e go fit do wetin e promise e people. But Jehovah no de only make e self be wetin e want be. E still de make the things wey e create, be wetin e need so that wetin e want go happen.
Fine-Fine Things Wey You See for Bible
(Exodus 2:10) When the boy don grow small, e carry the boy go give Pharaoh daughter, and the boy come be the son of [Pharaoh daughter]. [Pharaoh daughter] name the boy Moses and talk say: “Na because I bring-am come out from water.”

Moses Na Real Man or Na Just Story?
E suppose surprise us say princess for Egypt take that kind pikin as e own? No! For their religion, them de teach say to do good go make person go heaven when e die. Joyce Tyldesley na person wey de find old-old things for ground. E talk how Egypt people de adopt pikin. E talk say: “For Egypt, man and woman de get equal right. For law and business matter, e dey for their law say, man and woman go enjoy the same right and say. . . woman fit adopt pikin.” One old document talk about one Egypt woman wey buy slaves and adopt them. As Pharaoh pikin pay Moses mama make e breastfeed and care for Moses, The Anchor Bible Dictionary talk say e show say that time for Mesopotamia, people de pay other women to breastfeed the pikin wey them want adopt.
(Exodus 3:1) Moses start to care for the sheep of e father-in-law Jethʹro, wey be priest of Midʹi·an. As e de carry the sheep them go the west side of the wilderness, e come reach Horʹeb wey be the mountain of the true God.

The people of Midian come from one of the pikin wey Keturah born for Abraham. So e fit be say the people of Midian go don learn how to worship Jehovah from Abraham.—Genesis 25:1, 2.

“I Go Dey With You as You De Talk”
(Exodus 4:10) But Moses tell Jehovah say: “Jehovah abeg no vex, I no sabi talk well right from time or since you start de talk with me, because my mouth and my tongue de heavy me when I de talk.”
(Exodus 4:13) But e talk say: “Abeg Jehovah no vex for me, make you send another person wey you want send.”
w10 10/15 13-14
How Jehovah De Feel When We Give Excuse?
“I no go fit do-am.” You fit de feel say you no go fit preach the good news. Some people wey serve Jehovah well for Bible time, feel like that too. Them think say they no go fit do the work wey Jehovah give them. One person wey feel like that na Moses. When Jehovah give Moses one important work, Moses talk say: “Jehovah abeg no vex, I no sabi talk well right from time or since you start de talk with me, because my mouth and my tongue de heavy me when I de talk.” Even when Jehovah tell Moses say e go help-am, Moses still talk say: “Abeg Jehovah no vex for me, make you send another person wey you want send.” (Ex. 4:10-13) Wetin Jehovah come do?
(Exodus 4:11, 12) So Jehovah tell Moses say: “Who give person mouth wey e de use talk? Who get the power to make person deaf or dumb? And who get the power to make person see well or blind? No be me wey be Jehovah? 12 So make you de go now. I go dey with you as you de talk, and I go teach you the things wey you go talk.”
w14 4/15 9 ¶5-6
You De Show Say You Really Know Jehovah?
5 Before Moses go back to Egypt, God teach-am one important lesson. Moses later write about this lesson for the book of Job. E talk say when person de fear Jehovah, e show say the person get sense. (Job 28:28) So that Moses go learn wetin e mean to fear Jehovah and use sense do things, Jehovah wey be Almighty compare e self with people for this earth. E ask Moses say: “Who give person mouth wey e de use talk? Who get the power to make person deaf or dumb? And who get the power to make person see well or blind? No be me wey be Jehovah?”—Ex. 4:11.
6 Wetin Moses learn? Moses learn say e no suppose de fear because na Jehovah de send-am. And Jehovah go give-am the power to tell Pharaoh the message. Even self, who go fit compare Pharaoh with Jehovah. This one no be the first time wey kings for Egypt don put the life of Jehovah people for danger. E fit be say Moses remember how Jehovah protect Abraham, Joseph, and even Moses self from other Pharaoh wey don rule before. (Gen. 12:17-19; 41:14, 39-41; Ex. 1:22–2:10) Because Moses get faith say Jehovah go save-am, e no fear, e go meet Pharaoh, and talk everything wey Jehovah say make e talk.
(Exodus 4:14, 15) So Jehovah really vex for Moses and e ask-am say: “What about your brother Aaron wey be Levite? I know say e sabi how to talk well. E dey road de come meet you. When e see you, e go really happy. 15 Make you talk with-am, and tell-am wetin e go talk, and I go dey with you and your brother as you de talk, and I go teach wuna wetin wuna go do.
w10 10/15 14
How Jehovah De Feel When We Give Excuse?
Jehovah no accept Moses excuse or say make no do the work again. But e choose Aaron to join Moses do the work. (Ex. 4:14-17) Another thing be say, as time de go, Jehovah help Moses and give-am everything wey e need to do the work well. Na wetin Jehovah go still do for us today. E go touch brothers and sisters for congregation wey sabi how to preach, make them help us learn how to preach well. The most important one be say, Jehovah tell us for Bible say e go make us fit do the work wey e send us to do.—2 Cor. 3:5; go check the box “The Happiest Years of My Life.”
Fine-Fine Things Wey You See for Bible
(Exodus 4:24-26) As them dey the place wey people de rest for road, Jehovah meet-am and try to kill-am. 25 At last, Zipporah take one sharp stone wey be like knife and use-am circumcise e son. Then e use the flesh wey e cut comot touch e feet and talk say: “You don become my husband because of this blood.” 26 So E leave the boy make e go. As Zipporah don circumcise e son, na e make e talk say, “You don become my husband because of this blood.”
w04 3/15 28 ¶4
Question Wey Some People Don Ask
When Zipporah tell Jehovah say “you don become my husband because of this blood,” wetin e show about the kind person wey e be? As e circumcise e pikin, e show say e support the agreement wey Jehovah make with Israel people say them must circumcise their pikin wey be boy. After Israel people comot for Egypt, Jehovah make agreement with them say they go obey e Law. That agreement show say when Jehovah make this kind agreement with people, them fit see Jehovah as their husband and Jehovah go see them as e wife. (Jeremiah 31:32) So, as Zipporah tell Jehovah (the angel of Jehovah) say “you don become my husband because of this blood,” e be like say e de tell Jehovah say ‘I don do wetin we agree.’ And e just be like say e don gree say for this agreement to circumcise their boy pikin, Jehovah na e husband and e na Jehovah wife. The thing be say, as e obey Jehovah and circumcise e pikin, e save the life of the boy.
(Exodus 5:2) But Pharaoh ask them say: “Who be Jehovah, wey I go do wetin e talk and leave Israel people make them go? I no know who Jehovah be, and so, I no go let Israel people go.”
it-2 12 ¶5
Jehovah
So, to “know,” no be only to know person name or to fit recognize person or something when you see-am. Nabal wey Bible call foolish man, know David name but e still ask say, “Who be David?” E just be like say e de ask say, “Wetin David fit do?” (1Sa 25:9-11; compare 2Sa 8:13.) Na the same question wey Pharaoh ask Moses that time. E talk say: “Who be Jehovah, wey I go do wetin e talk and leave Israel people make them go? I no know who Jehovah be, and so, I no go let Israel people go.” (Ex 5:1, 2) Wetin Pharaoh mean be say, e no know say Jehovah na the true God. Jehovah no get right to control the king of Egypt or tell-am wetin to do. And say Jehovah no get the power to make-am send Israel people comot, as Moses and Aaron talk. But now, Pharaoh, all the people of Egypt and all Israel people go know the real meaning of the name of God. Them go know the kind God wey Jehovah be. This one go happen when Jehovah do wetin e promise Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. E go free the people of Israel from Egypt and give them the Promise Land. This na wetin Jehovah don show Moses say e go do. Na e make Jehovah talk say: “Wuna go really know say na me be Jehovah wuna God.”—Ex 6:4-8; see ALMIGHTY.
