Why Jehovah Name Really Important to Jesus?

IT WOR on Thursday, way in the evening, Nisan 14, 33 C.E. They wor coming betray Jesus, judge him, suffer him and even kill him. He and his faithful disciple dem just finish eating the Lord Evening Meal in one room upstairs. After they finish eating, Jesus tell them some thing dem to encourage them because the time he wor coming die wor near now. So just before all of them move from in the room, Jesus stop small and pray to Jehovah. The apostle John write that prayer in John chapter 17.

² Wetin Jesus prayer teach us about the thing that wor really important to him? How that prayer show what wor important to him the time he wor on earth? Let find the answer for this question dem.

“I NA SHOW YOUR NAME TO THEM”

3. Wetin Jesus say about Jehovah name, and what he mean? (John 17:​6, 26)

³ In his prayer, Jesus say “I na show your name to them.” We know this one wor important to Jesus because he talk about it to his disciple dem two times. (Read John 17:​6, 26.) What he mean? You think he wor showing them name that they not know? Jesus disciple dem wor Jews, so they already know God name that Jehovah. That name inside the Hebrew Scriptures plenty times. So Jesus wor not just talking about God real name. But he wor talking about the kindna person Jehovah is. He wor helping his disciple dem to know Jehovah good-good in the way that nobody wor able to do it. He wanted them to know Jehovah purpose, what He na do, what He will do and the good-good ways He get.

⁴ For example, let say one elder in your congregation that doctor, and his name David. And you been knowing this brother for plenty years now. But then one day you get seriously sick and they rush you to the hospital where that brother working. He use what he learn to treat you and save your life. Anytime you hear that brother name you will think on what he na do for you before. David will not just be the elder you know, but he will also be the doctor who save your life.

⁵ That the same way Jesus disciple dem already know Jehovah name. But that name wor more important to them because Jesus help them to know Jehovah good-good. Why we say so? Because Jesus show his Pa good-good way dem in everything he use to say and do. So his apostle dem get to “know” Jehovah good-good by listening to the way Jesus use to teach, and by looking at the way he use treat people.—John 14:9; 17:3.

“YOUR OWN NAME THAT YOU NA GIVE ME”

6. Wetin Jesus mean when he say God “na give His name to me”? (John 17:​11, 12)

⁶ Jesus pray for his disciple dem and say: “I beg you protect them because of your own name that you na give me.” (Read John 17:​11, 12.) You think this one mean that we can call Jesus, Jehovah? No. Notice in his prayer, Jesus say that name that Jehovah “own name.” So the name Jehovah that not Jesus name. Then Wetin Jesus mean when he say God “na give His name to me”? Yeh some reason dem here: (1.) That Jehovah send Jesus and he use to talk for Jehovah. He come in his Pa name and use his Pa name to perform miracles. (John 5:43; 10:25) (2.) The name Jesus mean “Jehovah Is Salvation.” So the meaning of Jesus name get Jehovah name inside.

7. Why we can say that Jesus talk for Jehovah? Give example.

⁷ To understand why we say Jesus talk for Jehovah, think about this example. Somebody who ruling can send another person to talk for him. So anything that person say, it just like that the person who send him say it. That the same way Jehovah send Jesus, so he use to talk about Jehovah to other people in His name.—Matt. 21:9; Luke 13:35.

8. How Jehovah name wor “in” Jesus before he come to the earth? (Exodus 23:​20, 21)

⁸ The Bible call Jesus the Word because Jehovah use him to give message to angels and human being. (John 1:​1-3) Maybe Jesus wor the angel who Jehovah use to take care of the Israelite dem when they wor going to the promise land. When Jehovah wor telling the Israelite dem to obey that angel, he say: “Because my name is in him.”a (Read Exodus 23:​20, 21.) Jehovah name wor “in” Jesus because he talk for Jehovah, and that he the main person who can show that Jehovah name holy and He can do everything the right way.

“FATHER, HONOR YOUR NAME”

9. Explain how Jesus show that Jehovah name wor really important to him.

⁹ What we na talk about just show that even before Jesus come to the earth, Jehovah name wor really important to him. That the reason why when he wor on earth, everything he use to do, show that Jehovah name wor important to him! The time wor reaching for Jesus to die. So he tell his Pa say: “Father, honor your name.” Then right there his Pa talk with loud voice from heaven and say: “I already na do it and I will do it again.”—John 12:28.

Jesus needed to prove that Jehovah name holy and He always been doing the right thing. Jesus show how this one wor important when he wor teaching his disciple dem how to pray. He say: “Our Father in heaven, let your name be holy.”—Matt. 6:9.

¹¹ Why Jesus needed to show that Jehovah name holy and He always been doing the right thing? Because in the garden of Eden, Satan talk all kindna lie-lie thing dem to spoil Jehovah name. Satan say Jehovah that liar and He wor hiding something good from Adam and Eve. (Gen. 3:​1-5) He also say that Jehovah can’t rule the right way. All this lie-lie thing dem he talk about Jehovah, make people to think that Jehovah that bad person. Later on, during Job time, Satan say that everybody who serving Jehovah only doing it because of what they can get from Him. That wicked liar also say that human being not really love Jehovah. He say when they going through problem they will stop serving Him. (Job 1:​9-11; 2:4) So Jehovah allow plenty time to pass to show who wor really lying, whether that Him or Satan.

“I WILLING TO GIVE MY LIFE”

12. Wetin Jesus wor willing to do because he love Jehovah name?

¹² Because Jesus love his Pa Jehovah, he wanted to do everything he able to do to show that Jehovah name holy and He can always do the right thing. Jesus say, “I willing to give my life.” (John 10:​17, 18) Yes, he wor even willing to die for Jehovah name.b The first two perfect people, Adam and Eve, turn their back on Jehovah and follow Satan. But Jesus not looking like that. He wor willing to come on earth and prove that he love Jehovah. He do it by remaining faithful. (Heb. 4:15; 5:​7-10) He remain faithful until he die on the torture stake.—Heb. 12:2. By doing it, he show that he love Jehovah and His name.

13. Why Jesus wor the best person to prove that Satan that liar? (Also see the picture.)

¹³ The way Jesus live his life really prove that Satan that the liar, and not Jehovah! (John 8:44) Jesus know Jehovah good-good more than anybody. If the thing dem Satan wor saying about Jehovah that true, Jesus wor coming know it. But Jesus remain faithful and he do his best to defend Jehovah name because he know that all the thing dem Satan wor saying, that so-so lies. Even when it wor looking like Jehovah turn his back on Jesus, he wor still willing to die instead of turning his back on his loving Father.—Matt. 27:46.c

“I FINISH THE WORK YOU GAVE ME”

14. How Jehovah bless Jesus for remaining faithful?

¹⁴ The night before Jesus die he pray and say: “I finish the work you gave me to do.” He wor convince that Jehovah wor coming bless him for remaining faithful. (John 17:​4, 5) And Jesus wor right to trust his Pa. Jehovah not allow him to stay in the grave. (Acts 2:​23, 24) He bring Jesus back to life and gave him big position in heaven. (Phil. 2:​8, 9) After some time, Jesus start ruling as King for God Kingdom. Wetin that Kingdom wor coming do? Jesus answer that question when he wor teaching his disciple dem how to pray. He say: “Let your Kingdom come. Let your [Jehovah] will happen on earth the same way it in heaven.”—Matt. 6:10.

15. Wetin Jesus will soon do?

¹⁵ Jesus will soon fight war against God enemy dem and destroy the wicked people during Armageddon. (Rev. 16:​14, 16; 19:​11-16) Right after that, Jesus will throw Satan in “the abyss,” that mean Satan will not be having power to do anything. (Rev. 20:​1-3) During Jesus One Thousand Year Rule, he will bring peace on the earth and make everybody to be perfect. He will even bring people back to life and make the whole earth paradise. The thing dem that Jehovah get in mind will happen!—Rev. 21:​1-4.

16. Wetin will happen when the One Thousand Year finish?

¹⁶ Wetin will happen when the One Thousand Year finish? Sin and imperfection will not be here again. Human being will not need to use the ransom sacrifice to ask Jehovah to forgive them again, and no need for the 144,000 and Jesus to be between they and Jehovah again. And “the last enemy, [Adamic] death, [will already be] brought to nothing.” All the grave dem will be empty. The people who die will already na come back to life. Everybody on earth will be perfect.—1 Cor. 15:​25, 26.

¹⁷ What else will happen when the One Thousand Year finish? During that time, something important will happen. Nobody will ever think again whether Jehovah name holy. Why? In the garden of Eden, Satan say that Jehovah that liar and that He can’t rule human being with love. Since that time, people who serve Jehovah na prove over and over that Jehovah that the best ruler. When Jesus One Thousand Rule finish, Jehovah name will be clear from all the lie-lie thing dem Satan say about Him. Jehovah will already na prove that he our loving Father in heaven.

¹⁸ Everybody will know that all the thing dem Satan say about Jehovah, that so-so lie. Wetin Jesus will do when the time come for him to finish ruling? You think he will follow Satan example and go against Jehovah? No! (Read 1 Corinthians 15:​24, 28.) Jesus will give the Kingdom back to his Pa. He will be under Jehovah rulership. Jesus not looking like Satan. He willing to give all his power because he love Jehovah.
