You Can Still Learn Lessons From Simple Bible Teachings

1. What some of the first thing dem you learn when you start studying the Bible, and how it affect you?

THE first thing dem we learn from the Bible na change our life. For example, when we learn that God name Jehovah, we start trying our best to be his friend. (Isa. 42:8) When we learn the truth about people who na die, we wor not scare of them again. (Eccl. 9:10) And when we learn that God promise to make this earth Paradise, we can’t worry about our future again. We wor convince that we will live forever, and not just for 70 or 80 years.—Ps. 37:29; 90:10.

2. How 2 Peter 1:​12, 13 show that mature Christians can still benefit from simple Bible truths?

² We must not overlook the simple Bible truth dem we learn when we start studying the Bible. Think about the Christian dem the apostle Peter write his second letter to. They wor “well-established in the truth.” (Read 2 Peter 1:​12, 13.) But during that time, they wor facing some problem in the congregation, and some men dem wor trying to take people from the truth. (2 Pet. 2:​1-3) Peter wanted to help his brother and sister dem to be strong, so they can protect theirself from the lie-lie thing dem this men dem wor teaching. So he tell them to remember the simple Bible truths they na learn. It wor coming help them to remain faithful to the end.

3. Why all Christians must continue to think on the simple Bible truths they learn? Give example.

³ Even if we being in the truth for long time, we can still benefit from simple Bible teachings. For example: Somebody who can really cook and somebody who learning how to cook can use the same thing dem to prepare their food when they cooking. But because the person who really know how to cook good na stay long using this same thing dem, they will be able to learn new ways to use them. That the same way with those who being serving Jehovah for long time and those who just start studying the Bible. All of them learn the same simple Bible teachings. But those who na stay long serving Jehovah can learn different-different lessons from this same thing dem. From the time we get baptize, maybe our situation or our privilege dem na change. But when we think about the thing dem we learn way back, we will see how we can apply them to our situation now-now. Let see what mature Christians can learn from three simple Bible teachings they learn the time they start studying the Bible.

JEHOVAH THAT THE CREATOR

4. How knowing that Jehovah that the Creator na benefit us?

⁴ “The one who constructed all things is God.” (Heb. 3:4) We know that our Creator who get power and plenty sense, made the earth and all the thing dem that on it. That he the one make us, so he know us good-good. Beside that, he can take care of us. He know wetin good for us. Just knowing that Jehovah that our Creator, na make our life better and give us hope.

5. What simple Bible teaching can help us to be humble? (Isaiah 45:​9-12)

⁵ Just knowing the truth that Jehovah that our Creator can make us to be humble. When Job wor focusing too much on hisself and other people, Jehovah remind him that He the almighty Creator. (Job 38:​1-4) This one remind Job that God can always do the right thing. That the reason why the prophet Isaiah say: “Should the clay say to the Potter: ‘What are you making?’”—Read Isaiah 45:​9-12.

6. What time it will really be good to think that our Creator get power and plenty sense? (Also see the pictures.)

⁶ When somebody stay long in the truth, sometime they can start depending on their own idea instead of looking to Jehovah and His Word the Bible for help. (Job 37:​23, 24) But suppose the person think about the way the Creator get more power and wisdom pass everybody? (Isa. 40:22; 55:​8, 9) This simple truth will help him to be humble and correct his thinking.

7. Wetin Rahela do to accept new direction?

⁷ One sister from Slovenia name Rahela say that thinking about her Creator na help her to accept any change the organization make. She say: “Sometime, it can be hard for me to accept the direction from the brother dem that taking the lead. For example, after I finish watching the 2023 Governing Body Update #8, I wor surprise to see one brother with beard giving talk. So I pray to Jehovah to help me to accept this new direction.” Rahela remember that the Creator who made the heaven and the earth able to direct his organization the right way. If it hard for you to accept any new understanding or direction, take some time to think on how our Creator get power and plenty sense more than us?—Rom. 11:​33-36.

WHY GOD ALLOW SUFFERING?

8. How learning why God allow suffering na benefit us?

⁸ Why God allow suffering? Some people who not know the answer for this question can get vex with God or feel that he not real person! (Prov. 19:3) But we na learn that, that not Jehovah can make us to suffer. We suffering because we not perfect and we can sin. You na also learn that because Jehovah patient with us, he na allow plenty people to know him and see for theirself that Jehovah will finish suffering one day. (2 Pet. 3:​9, 15) Knowing this simple truth dem na make our heart to lay down and help us draw close to him.

9. What kindna situation dem can make us to think on the reason why Jehovah allow suffering?

⁹ We know that we suppose to be patient while we waiting for Jehovah to finish suffering. But, when we going through problem like injustice or when somebody die from us, we can want Jehovah to do something about it quick-quick. (Hab. 1:​2, 3) In that kindna situation, it will be good for us to think on the reasons why Jehovah can allow his servant dem to suffer.a (Ps. 34:19) We can also think on how Jehovah really want end suffering for good.

10. Wetin help Anne to bear it when her ma die?

¹⁰ Just knowing the truth about why Jehovah allow suffering can help us to bear our problem. For example, Anne who living on one island name Mayotte, in the Indian Ocean, say: “Few years ago when my ma die, I wor really feeling sad. But, I always tell myself, that not Jehovah responsible for the bad thing dem that wor happening to me. He really want end all the suffering we going through and bring our people dem who na die back to life. Thinking on this simple truth dem na make my heart to lay down. And for me to be able to bear this problem, it really full my mouth”

11. When we know the reason why Jehovah allow suffering, how it can help us to continue preaching?

¹¹ When we know the truth about why God allow suffering, it can encourage us to continue preaching. After Peter explain that Jehovah patient because he want people to repent and be safe, he say: “Consider what sort of people you ought to be in holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion.” (2 Pet. 3:11) One of the “deeds of godly devotion” that the preaching work. We love people just like our Pa, Jehovah. We want them to live in God new world. Jehovah patient so he giving the people in your area the chance to worship him. That not small privilege we get to be working with God and helping plenty people to know about him before the end come!—1 Cor. 3:9.

WE LIVING IN “THE LAST DAYS”

12. How knowing that we living in “the last days” na benefit us?

¹² The Bible tell us exactly how people will be acting in “the last days.” (2 Tim. 3:​1-5) And for true, we can see it all around us today. When we see how people behavior getting worse, it can convince us that all the thing dem the Bible say that true.—2 Tim. 3:​13-15.

13. When we look at the example Jesus use in Luke 12:​15-21, what kindna question dem we must ask ourself?

¹³ Knowing the truth that we living in the last days can also help us to focus on the thing dem that really important. To see why this one important, let learn from the example Jesus use in Luke 12:​15-21. (Read.) Why the Bible say the rich man ‘wor not having sense’? It not because the man wor rich, but because he put material things first in his life. He wor ‘keeping plenty thing dem that get value but he wor not having good friendship with God.’ Why this one wor important? Because God tell the man say: “Tonight you will die.” The way this world will soon end, we must ask ourself this question dem: ‘How the thing dem I plan to do show what really important to me? What kindna goals I helping my children to set? I using my strength, my time, and my money to just focus on getting plenty material things for myself, or l using it to get good friendship with God?’

14. How Miki experience help us to see why it important for us to remember that we living in the last days?

¹⁴ When we really convince that we living in the last days it can help us to know how to use our life the best way. That what happen to one sister name Miki. She say: “When I finish high school, I wanted to go to the university to learn about animals. I also wanted to regular pioneer and go to where they need more people to preach. Some mature friend dem advise me to think good-good on whether I will be able to go to the university and still reach my goal dem. They remind me that this world will soon end. It help me to see that in the new world, I will get plenty time to study about the different-different animal dem. So, I decide to learn something I will do with my hand to help me to regular pioneer. This one help me to find work that allow me to regular pioneer, and later on move to Ecuador, where they need more people to preach.” Now-now, she and her husband doing circuit work in Ecuador.

15. How James example help us to not give up on people who not show interest in the good news yet? (Also see the pictures.)

¹⁵ When we preach to somebody and the person not take the truth right away, we must not be discourage. People can change. Let talk about Jesus step brother James. He grow up with Jesus. He see Jesus become the Messiah and he see how Jesus wor good teacher. But for plenty years, James not follow Jesus. The only time James decide to follow Jesus, that the time Jesus come back to life. And from that time, James wor having zeal!b (John 7:5; Gal. 2:9) So don’t give up on your family member dem or people who not show interest in studying the Bible yet. Remember that we living in the last days, so our preaching work really important. Maybe the things you telling them today will touch their heart later on, or after the great tribulation start.c

16. How you na benefit from the simple Bible truth dem you na learn? (Also see the box “Use Them to Help Other People.”)

¹⁶ Some of the spiritual food dem we can get, it for people who not know plenty things in the Bible. For example, the public talks, certain articles and videos on jw.org, the magazines for the public can mainly be for people who not Jehovah Witness. But we can still benefit from it. It can make our love for Jehovah strong. It can also make our faith in the Bible strong, and help us to teach people simple Bible truths good-good.—Ps. 19:7.

17. What kindna situation dem can make us to think on simple Bible teachings?

¹⁷ We Jehovah people can really be happy when we get new understanding for certain Bible truth. But, we also grateful for the simple Bible teaching dem that make us to come in the truth. Anytime we feel that our thinking better pass Jehovah thinking, it will be good for us to be humble and know that Jehovah directing his organization. He our Creator who get power and plenty sense. So when we or our family member going through problem, let be patient and think on why Jehovah allow suffering. And when we thinking on how to use our time and material things, we must remember that we living in the last days. Let continue to allow the thing dem Jehovah teaching us to make us strong, encourage us, and make us to get plenty sense.
