Jehovah Love People Wey Them No Tire to Preach
“But that one for fine soil na people wey them . . . de endure as them de produce fruit.”—LUKE 8:15.
1, 2. (a) How the example of our brothers wey them de preach for area wey people no want listen de help us? (Check the first picture.) (b) Wetin Jesus talk when e de preach for e own village? (Check footnote.)
SERGIO AND OLINDA na husband and wife, and them de live for United States. They don pass 80 years, but still de pioneer together. Even as their leg de pain them now, they continue to preach as they don always de do for many years. For morning, they go waka go one area wey people plenty for town. Na seven o’clock for morning them de reach the place. They go stand near one bus stop and de give people our magazines and books. Plenty people no de even look them. But they continue to stand there, and de smile with the people wey de look them. Around twelve o’clock, they go waka sofri-sofri go house. The next day around seven o’clock for morning, they go go that place again. In short, this brother and e wife de preach like this for six days every week, for the whole year.
2 Like Brother Sergio and the wife, plenty brothers and sisters for the whole world don de preach for this kind area wey people no de like to listen. If na so people dey for your area, we de praise you as you no de tire to preach the good news.a As you de endure, e de help our brothers and sisters make them no tire too, even if they don de serve Jehovah for many years. See wetin this three circuit overseer talk. The first one talk say: “When I preach with this kind brothers and sisters, their example de make me strong.” The other one talk say: “As they no tire to preach, e de help me make I no tire too, and e de give me strong mind.” The last one talk say: “Their example de touch my heart.”
3. Which three question we go talk about, and why?
3 To help us finish the preaching work wey Jesus give us, make we answer three question: Wetin fit make us tire sometimes? Wetin e mean to produce fruit? Wetin go help us endure as we de preach?
WETIN FIT MAKE US TIRE?
4. (a) How Paul feel as Jew people no listen to the good news? (b) Why Paul feel like that?
4 You don ever tire to preach because people for your area no de listen? If na so, you go understand how apostle Paul feel when e de preach. E preach for about 30 years, and e help plenty people come be Christian. (Acts 14:21; 2 Cor. 3:2, 3) But e no succeed to help plenty Jew people. Instead, many of them no gree listen to wetin e talk. Some of them even suffer Paul. (Acts 14:19; 17:1, 4, 5, 13) How this one affect Paul? E talk say: “Na the truth I de talk because I de follow Christ . . . I no de happy at all and the pain for my heart no gree finish.” (Rom. 9:1-3) Why Paul feel like that? Na because e really like the preaching work. E preach to Jew people because e love them. Na e make Paul no happy say they no listen to the good news.
5. (a) Why we de tell people the good news? (b) Why e no surprise us say sometimes we de tire to preach?
5 Like Paul, we de tell people the good news because we really love them. (Matt. 22:39; 1 Cor. 11:1) From wetin we don see for our own life, we know say the best life na when person de serve Jehovah. Na e make we want help them see how their life go sweet if they serve Jehovah! So we de do everything make we help them learn the truth about Jehovah. E just be like say we de tell the people say: ‘We bring one fine gift for wuna. Abeg make wuna take-am.’ If people no take this fine gift, na normal thing say e go pain us. If we feel like that, e no mean say we no get faith. We de feel so because we love the preaching work. So even if sometimes e de pain us as people no de listen, we de endure and continue with the preaching work. One sister wey e name na Elena don pioneer pass 25 years. E talk say: “Preaching no easy for me. But no other work better pass this one.” Many of us fit gree with wetin e talk.
WETIN E MEAN TO PRODUCE FRUIT?
6. Which question we go answer now, and wetin go help us get the answer?
6 Wetin make us believe say Jehovah de happy as we de preach, no matter how our territory be? Before we answer that important question, make we talk about two example wey Jesus use. This example show why we need to “produce fruit.” (Matt. 13:23) The first one talk about one plant wey them de call vine.
7. (a) Who “plant” the vine, who be “the vine,” and who be the different-different “branch”? (b) Which question we go answer?
7 Read John 15:1-5, 8. Jesus tell the apostles say: “Make wuna continue to produce plenty fruit and de show say wuna be my disciples, because this one de bring my Father honor.” Na Jesus be the “true vine,” na Jehovah “plant-am” and the different-different “branch” na e disciples.b But wetin be the fruit wey disciples of Christ need to produce? For this example, Jesus no talk wetin be the fruit but the thing wey e talk fit help us know the answer.
8. (a) Why e be say the fruit wey Jesus talk about no be to make new disciples? (b) Wetin we must know about Jehovah when e ask us to do something?
8 Jesus talk say: “If any of my branch no produce fruit, [Jehovah] de remove-am.” This one mean say Jehovah de see us as e servant only if we de produce fruit. (Matt. 13:23; 21:43) We fit don help some people be disciple of Jesus. But wetin Jesus talk de show say the fruit wey servants of Jehovah must produce, no be to make new disciples. (Matt. 28:19) If na to make disciples, e mean say our brothers and sisters for area wey people no de listen to our preaching go be like the different-different branch wey no de produce fruits. But no be so! Why? Because we no fit force people to serve Jehovah. Jehovah love us and e know wetin we fit do and wetin we no fit do. Jehovah no de ever tell us make we do something wey we no fit do.—Deut. 30:11-14.
9. (a) Wetin we go de do to show say we de produce fruit? (b) Which example we go talk about, and why?
9 So wetin be the fruit wey we must produce? E clear say this fruit go be something wey any Christian fit do. Wetin we go de do to show say we de produce fruit? Na to preach the good news about the Kingdom of God.c (Matt. 24:14) The next example wey Jesus talk about the farmer help us to understand-am clear say, na the preaching work be the fruit. Make we see this example.
10. (a) For this other example, wetin the seed and the soil de show? (b) When wheat grow, wetin e de produce?
10 Read Luke 8:5-8, 11-15. For the example about the farmer, the seed na “the word of God,” or the good news about the Kingdom. The soil na the kind heart condition wey people get. The seed wey e fall for fine soil, first get root, e germinate, and e grow come be plant. E come “produce fruit 100 times more.” For example, if na wheat be the seed, which kind fruit e go produce when e grow? E no go produce another plant. E go produce other wheat seed wey they fit plant make e grow too. So for this example, one seed produce 100 seeds. How this example take concern our preaching work?
How we de “endure as we de produce fruit”? (Check paragraph 11)
11. (a) How the example about the farmer concern our preaching work? (b) How we de produce new seed?
11 This one just dey like when our papa and mama or other people for congregation first teach us the truth. As we accept wetin we de learn, e make them happy. E just be like that seed wey they plant for fine soil. The seed grow sotey e reach to produce fruit. The seed no go produce another plant. Na new seed e go produce. So, the fruit wey we de produce no be new disciples, but na new seed.d How we de produce new seed? Anytime wey we tell people the truth about the Kingdom, e be like say we de spread that seed wey they plant for our heart. (Luke 6:45; 8:1) So, wetin this example de teach us? As long as we continue to preach the good news about the Kingdom of God, we de “endure as we de produce fruit.”
12. (a) Wetin we fit learn from the example about the vine tree and the farmer? (b) How you de feel about the lesson wey you learn from this example?
12 Wetin we fit learn from the example about the vine and the farmer? We learn say, the fruit wey we de produce no be whether people accept the message or they no accept-am. We de produce fruit if we no tire to preach. Na e make Paul talk say: “Each person go get reward for the way e do e own work.” (1 Cor. 3:8) The reward na for the work wey person do, no be for the result of the work. Matilda na one pioneer sister. E don pioneer for 20 years and e talk say: “I de happy say Jehovah de give us reward for the work wey we de do.”
WETIN GO HELP US ENDURE AS WE DE PREACH?
13, 14. According to Romans 10:1, 2, wetin make Paul no tire to preach to people, even as they no de accept the good news?
13 Wetin go help us endure as we de preach? As we don learn, e pain Paul as Jew people no accept the good news. But, Paul no stop to preach to them. For the letter wey Paul write to Christians for Rome, e talk how e de feel about Jew people. E talk say: “The thing wey my heart really want for them and wetin I de beg God be say, make them get life. I fit talk this one about them because they really love to serve God, but they no de do-am for the right way.” (Rom. 10:1, 2) So wetin make Paul no tire to preach to Jew people?
14 Number one, Paul talk say na “the thing wey [e] heart really want.” Paul really want make some Jew people get life. (Rom. 11:13, 14) Number two, Paul talk say e de “beg God” for them. E pray say make God help this Jew people accept the good news. Number three, Paul explain say: “They really love to serve God.” Paul know say anybody fit change. E understand say some of this Jew people get good heart, and they fit change come serve Jehovah. Na so Paul change too.
15. How we fit copy the example of Paul? Give examples.
15 How we fit copy the example of Paul? (1) We must ready to help “people wey they want get life.” (2) We go beg Jehovah for prayer make e touch the heart of people wey they want learn the truth. (Acts 13:48; 16:14) Silvana, one pioneer sister wey e don pioneer for about 30 years talk say: “Before I enter any house go preach, I de pray make Jehovah help me get good heart.” We still de pray make God use angels direct us make we meet people wey they want know the truth. (Matt. 10:11-13; Rev. 14:6) E don pass 30 years wey one brother de pioneer, e name na Robert. E talk say: “As we de preach with angels, e de make me happy because them know the things wey people de face.” (3) Make we no forget say people fit change. Brother Carl de serve as elder, and e don pass 50 years wey e baptize. E talk say: “I de find any small sign wey e go show say person want know the truth. E fit be say the person smile or e ask better question.” Like Paul, we fit endure as we de preach.
“NO GREE MAKE YOUR HAND REST”
16, 17. (a) Wetin we learn from the advice wey e dey Ecclesiastes 11:6? (b) Give example of how our work fit affect people wey them de watch us.
16 Even if e be like say people no de accept the good news wey we de preach, make we no forget how our work fit affect people. (Read Ecclesiastes 11:6.) Plenty people no de listen, but them de watch us. Them de see say we de dress well, we de smile with people and we no de talk to people anyhow. As time de go, our better character fit make some of them change the way them de think about us. Sergio and Olinda wey we talk about for paragraph one don get this kind experience.
17 Sergio talk say: “For some time, we no preach for that public area because we de sick. When we come back, people come de ask us say: ‘Wetin happen? We miss wuna.’” Olinda talk say: “Some bus drivers de greet us from their bus and some shout say: ‘Wuna well done!’ They even ask us for magazines.” The one wey e surprise this husband and wife be say, one man come meet them and give them flowers. And e thank them for the work wey them de do.
18. Wetin make you decide say you no go tire to preach?
18 True-true, as long as we continue to preach and “no gree make [our] hand rest,” we de help make “people for the whole world” hear the truth about God. (Matt. 24:14) The one wey e really dey important pass be say, we de happy because we know say we de make Jehovah happy. And we still know say Jehovah love everybody wey them de “endure as [them] de produce fruit!”
a Even Jesus know say preaching work for e “own village” no easy. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John talk about-am.—Matt. 13:57; Mark 6:4; Luke 4:24; John 4:44.
b Even though say the different-different branch wey Jesus talk about na people wey they go rule with Jesus for heaven, the lesson still concern all servant of Jehovah.
c To “produce fruit,” fit still mean to get “the fruit wey holy spirit de produce.” But for this topic and the next one, we go talk about the “fruit wey our mouth de produce,” or the preaching work.—Gal. 5:22, 23; Heb. 13:15.
d For another time, Jesus talk say the preaching work dey like to plant and harvest.—Matt. 9:37; John 4:35-38.
