Serve Jehovah Well Even If You Dey Another Language Congregation
‘I dey put your word for my mind.’—PS. 119:11.
SONG: 142, 92
1-3. (a) Wetin suppose be number one for our life no matter how things be for us? (b) Which problem people wey dey learn another language dey face and which question this one dey make us ask? (Check the first picture.)
TODAY, many Jehovah Witness people dey make wetin Bible talk happen because dem dey preach the good news ‘to all the people, tribe and language wey dey this earth.’ (Rev. 14:6) You dey learn another language? You be missionary or you dey preach for another country where Jehovah Witness people no plenty, or you don join congregation wey dey use another language for your country?
2 As people wey dey serve Jehovah, na how we and our family go take serve Jehovah well suppose be the number one thing for our life. (Matt. 5:3) Sometimes, because of work and other things wey we dey do, we fit no get time to do personal study. But people wey dey another language congregation still get other things wey dey give dem problem.
3 One thing be sey dem go need to learn new language. And dem still need to make sure sey dem dey learn every time from all the things wey Jehovah dey teach us. (1 Cor. 2:10) How dem go fit do this one if dem no really sabi the language wey the congregation dey use? And why e good make papa and mama make sure sey God Word touch their pikin mind?
WETIN FIT CAUSE PROBLEM?
4. Wetin fit cause problem for people wey dey another language congregation? Give one example.
4 If we no sabi the language wey people for our new congregation dey use, e go hard us to understand the truth wey dey Bible for that language. And that one na big problem. Five hundred years before dem born Jesus, this kind thing worry Nehemiah. Some of the pikin wey Jew people wey come back from Babylon born, no sabi speak Hebrew language. (Read Nehemiah 13:23, 24.) Because dem no fit speak the language, dem no really understand wetin dey God Word. This one come make dem dey do like people wey no dey serve Jehovah.—Neh. 8:2, 8.
5, 6. Wetin some papa and mama wey dey congregation wey dey use another language don see about their pikin, and why e be like that?
5 Some papa and mama wey don join congregation wey dey use another language, don see sey their pikin no dey happy to dey serve Jehovah again. Wetin dem dey learn for meeting no dey touch their mind because dem no really dey understand. Pedro [1] wey carry im family from Australia go South America talk sey: “We must put mind and body if we dey talk matter wey concern God.”—Luke 24:32.
6 If we dey read for our language, e dey touch our mind pass if we dey read for another language. Even self, because we no dey fit speak or hear another language well, e fit affect the way we dey think and make us tire to serve Jehovah. So, even though sey we no want comot for congregation wey dey use another language, make we do everything wey we fit do to serve Jehovah well.—Matt. 4:4.
DEM SERVE JEHOVAH WELL
7. Wetin Babylon people do wey show sey dem want make Daniel dey do things like dem and serve their juju?
7 When Babylon people carry Daniel and im three friend as slave go Babylon, dem want make Daniel and im three friend dey do things like dem and learn their language. Even self, the oga for the court wey dey train Daniel give dem Babylon name. (Dan. 1:3-7) The name wey dem give Daniel mean Bel wey be the main juju for Babylon. E fit be sey King Nebuchadnezzar want make Daniel believe sey Jehovah dey under Babylon god.—Dan. 4:8.
8. Wetin help Daniel continue to serve Jehovah well when e dey Babylon?
8 Even though sey dem give Daniel the King food, e ‘don already talk for im mind’ sey e no go ‘dirty imself’ with that kind food. (Dan. 1:8) Because e no stop to learn from ‘the holy book’ for im own language, e continue to serve Jehovah well when e dey Babylon. (Dan. 9:2, ftn.) Na im make e still answer im Hebrew name even after 70 years for Babylon.—Dan. 5:13.
9. As we see for psalm 119, how God word take help the person wey write am?
9 Na wetin dey God Word help the person wey write Psalm 119 make e fit dey different. E bear am when some people wey dey work for the king court talk bad about am. (Ps. 119:23, 61) And e let God word touch im mind well well.—Read Psalm 119:11, 46.
CONTINUE TO DEY SERVE JEHOVAH WELL
10, 11. (a) Wetin we go get for mind as we dey study Bible? (b) How we go take do am? Give example.
10 Na true sey we no dey too get time because of work for congregation or other work, but e good make all of us dey arrange time for personal study and family worship. (Eph. 5:15, 16) Why we dey do am no be just to read many place or prepare to answer question for meeting. We want make sure sey God word touch our mind so that our faith go strong.
11 For that one to happen, make we no dey think of how wetin we dey study go help only other people but how e go still help us. (Phil. 1:9, 10) Make we know sey when we dey prepare for preaching, meeting or talk, we fit no see how e take affect our life. For example: Na true sey person wey dey cook food go taste the food before e serve am give people, but the one wey e taste no fit belleful am. If e want continue to dey strong, e need to chop well. Na so we go still do, make we dey think about how we go take use wetin we dey learn help ourself.
12, 13. Why e be sey people wey dey congregation wey dey use another language like to dey study Bible for their own language?
12 Many people wey dey congregation wey dey use another langauge don see sey to dey study Bible every time for ‘their own language’ good well well. (Acts 2:8, ftn.) Even people wey be missionary know sey no be only wetin dem dey learn from meeting go help dem serve Jehovah well, dem still need personal study.
13 E don reach about eight years wey Alain don dey learn Persia language, e sey “If I dey use persia language prepare for meeting, na the lauguage I dey put mind pass. As e be sey wetin dey my mind na to learn the language, wetin I dey read no dey really touch my mind. Na im make I dey arrange time to study Bible and other publication for my own language.”
MAKE SURE SEY GOD WORD TOUCH YOUR PIKIN MIND
14. Wetin papa and mama go try do, and why?
14 Papa and mama go make sure sey God Word touch their pikin mind. Serge and im wife Muriel dey congregation wey dey use another language. After three years, dem come see sey their pikin wey dey 17 years no dey happy to serve Jehovah again. Muriel talk sey: “Before, e like to dey preach with im language French, but now e no come dey happy to preach with another language.” Serge sey: “When we see sey our pikin no dey do well again, we come go back to our former congregation.”
Make sure sey the truth wey dey Bible touch your pikin mind (Check paragraph 14, 15)
15. (a) Wetin fit make papa and mama go back to the congregation wey dey use the language wey their pikin dey understand well? (b) Which advice Deuteronomy 6:5-7 give papa and mama?
15 Wetin go make papa and mama go back to congregation wey dey use the language wey their pikin dey understand well? Make dem first check whether dem get the time and other things wey dem need to teach their pikin to love Jehovah as dem dey teach dem the new language. Another thing be sey dem fit see sey their pikin no dey happy to serve Jehovah because dem dey congregation wey dey use another language. If e be like that, dem fit go back to congregation wey dey use the language wey go make their pikin stand well for Jehovah side. —Read Deuteronomy 6:5-7.
16, 17. Wetin don help some papa and mama wey dey another language congregation to train their pikin to serve Jehovah well?
16 Another thing wey papa and mama fit do na to dey teach their pikin their own language even if dem dey congregation or group wey dey use another language. Charles born three girls wey dey about 9 to 13 years and dem dey group wey dey use Lingala language for meeting. E sey: “We arrange sey we go dey use our language for family worship and when we dey study our pikin. But we still dey practice how to preach and dey do Bible game for Lingala language. This one dey make dem happy to learn the language.”
Try learn the new language and use am for meeting (Check paragraph 16, 17)
17 Kevin born two girls, one na five years and the other one na eight years and dem dey another language congregation. Kevin don do wetin go make dem understand the things wey dem dey learn for meeting. E talk sey: “Me and my wife dey do personal study with our pikin for our language wey be French. We still arrange sey we go dey go French congregation once every month, and we dey use our holiday go French convention.”
18. (a) Wetin dey Romans 15:1, 2 wey fit help you know wetin good for your pikin? (b) Which advice other papa and mama don give? (Check endnote.)
18 But the truth be sey, every family go choose wetin go help dem and their pikin serve Jehovah well.[2] (Gal. 6:5) Muriel wey we talk about before talk sey, im and im husband comot from the congregation wey dem like because dem want make their pikin continue to serve Jehovah well. (Read Romans 15:1, 2.) Now, e fit talk sey wetin dem choose that time na the correct thing. E still talk sey: “As we go back to French congregation, our pikin come start to dey serve Jehovah well again, e come baptize. E don be regular pioneer and e dey even think about how e go take join another language group.”
MAKE GOD WORD TOUCH YOUR MIND
19, 20. How we go take show sey we love God word?
19 Because Jehovah love us, e don give us Bible. Bible dey for many many language so that ‘everybody go come know wetin be the correct truth.’ (1 Tim. 2:4) God know sey we go fit serve am well if we dey read Bible for the language wey dey touch our mind.
20 No matter how things be for us, make we continue to dey learn things wey go help us serve Jehovah well. If we continue to dey use our own language study Bible, we and our family go dey serve Jehovah well and we go show sey we dey put Jehovah word for our mind.—Ps. 119:11.
