Peace​—How You Fit Get-Am?

WE DE live for world wey trouble dey plenty. Na e make we must try our best so that we go get peace. Even when we de enjoy small peace, we de struggle make this peace remain with us. How Bible fit help us get true peace? And how we fit help other people get true peace?

WETIN WE NEED IF WE WANT GET TRUE PEACE?

We go get true peace only if we no de worry too much, and we no de fear even with plenty problem for the world. We still need to be good friends with other people. But the thing wey e go help us pass na when we make God our tight friend. E go help us get correct peace. So, how we fit make God our tight friend?

When we de do wetin Bible talk, we de show say we trust Jehovah as our God, and we want make peace dey our friendship. (Jer. 17:7, 8; Jas. 2:22, 23) Then, Jehovah go come near us too and make us get true peace. Isaiah 32:17 talk say: “The result of wetin really correct na peace. And wetin really correct go bring rest of mind and protection forever.” We fit get true peace when we de obey Jehovah with all our heart.​—Isa. 48:18, 19.

The holy spirit na one fine gift from our Father, Jehovah. This gift de help us get true peace.​—Acts 9:31.

HOLY SPIRIT DE HELP US GET PEACE

Apostle Paul talk say, peace na part of the “fruit wey the spirit de produce.” (Gal. 5:22, 23) Since holy spirit de produce peace, we must do the things wey holy spirit de direct us to do, so that we go get true peace. Make we talk about two way wey holy spirit de help us get peace.

Number one, we de get peace as we de read Bible everyday. (Ps. 1:2, 3) When we de think deep about wetin Bible talk, holy spirit de help us understand how Jehovah de do things. For example, we go see wetin de move Jehovah to make peace, and why e value peace. When we follow Bible advice, we go enjoy peace more-more.​—Prov. 3:1, 2.

Number two, we must beg God for holy spirit. (Luke 11:13) Jehovah don promise say if we pray for help, “the peace wey God de give wey e pass anything wey person fit understand, go protect [our] heart and how [we] de think through Jesus Christ.” (Phil. 4:6, 7) When we trust say holy spirit go help us, our God go give us true peace. Na only people wey they make Jehovah their friend de get this kind peace.​—Rom. 15:13.

Some people don follow wetin Bible talk. How that one don help them change their character and enjoy true peace with Jehovah, with theirself, and with other people?

WETIN SOME PEOPLE DO TO GET TRUE PEACE

Today, we get some brothers and sisters wey before they come serve Jehovah, them “de vex quick” but now they don change. Now, them de do things sofri-sofri with people, them dey patient and de make peace with people.a (Prov. 29:22) Make we see the example of two publishers. Before, them de vex quick, but they help them change their character, and they come de make peace with people.

Before David baptize, e like to condemn people and de talk anyhow to e family people. But as time de pass, David change. E come see say e good make e de make peace with people. Wetin David do so that e go get peace? E talk say, “I begin do wetin Bible talk, and this one really help me. Now, me and my family people de respect each other well.”

Rachel na one sister wey everybody for e family get hot temper. This one make Rachel get hot temper too. E talk say, “Even now, I still de struggle to control myself make I no de vex quick.” Wetin help this our sister come de make peace with people more-more? E talk say, “I de pray make Jehovah help me everytime.”

David and Rachel na just two example of people wey holy spirit don help them get better character, like peace. When we follow wetin Bible talk and trust Jehovah to help us with e spirit, we go get peace. True-true, even as we de live for world wey peace no dey, we fit get peace of mind, get peace for our family and for congregation. But, Jehovah talk say make we “de make peace with everybody.” (Rom. 12:18) E really dey possible to make peace with everybody? Wetin we go gain if we try to make peace?

DE MAKE PEACE WITH EVERYBODY

As we de preach, we de tell people about the peace wey the Kingdom of God go bring, and wetin they fit do to enjoy that peace. (Isa. 9:6, 7; Matt. 24:14) Plenty people don accept this good news. E don help them make they no de feel bad about theirself or vex for the bad things wey people de do for this world. Now, they get hope say the future go better and this one de move them to “find peace and keep-am.”​—Ps. 34:14.

But no be everybody de accept the good news the first time they hear the good news. (John 3:19) Even with that one, holy spirit from God de help us make we de preach with peace and respect. This one show say we de follow wetin Jesus talk for Matthew 10:11-13. E talk say: “When wuna enter any house, greet the people. If the people welcome wuna, make wuna peace dey with them, but if they no welcome wuna, make wuna peace remain with wuna.” When we do the thing wey Jesus talk, we go leave the place in peace so that we go fit help the person next time.

We de talk with people wey they get high position for government with respect, even if they no like our preaching work. This one de show say we like peace. For example, for one country for Africa, the government no like us. Na this one make they no want give us permit make we de build Kingdom Hall. Because we want settle the matter with peace, we send one brother wey e don serve before as missionary for that African country, make e go visit the Ambassador of that country for London. We send this brother make e tell the Ambassador about the kind work wey Jehovah Witness people de do for that African country. So, wetin happen when the brother reach there?

The brother talk say, “When I reach the office, one woman welcome me. Then I notice say the woman dress like people for one tribe wey I don learn their language. So I greet the woman for that language. E surprise, and ask me say, ‘Why you come here?’ With respect I tell the woman say, I go like to see the Ambassador. So e call the Ambassador. When the man come see me, e greet me with their language. After that one, the man listen well, as I explain the kind work wey Jehovah Witness de do.”

The way the brother show respect as e de explain things, make the Ambassador understand who Jehovah Witness people really be. E no hate our preaching work again. After some time, the government for that African country accept make we de build Kingdom Hall. The brothers and sisters really happy with that news! E show say plenty benefit dey when we de treat people with respect. One of this benefit na peace.

ENJOY PEACE FOREVER

Today, people wey them de serve Jehovah de enjoy true peace among theirself. You fit join hand make this peace continue, if you de try to get this fruit, or character, wey holy spirit de produce. The one wey e better pass be say, Jehovah go bless you. And for paradise, peace go dey everywhere and you go enjoy-am forever.​—2 Pet. 3:13, 14.
