Why We No De Tire to Preach

“Make wuna continue to produce plenty fruit and de show say wuna be my disciples, because this one de bring my Father honor.”—JOHN 15:8.

SONG: 53, 60

WETIN BE YOUR ANSWER?

  • Which reasons dey for Bible why we no de tire to preach?

  • Why e good make we no forget why we de preach?

  • Which different-different gift de help us endure as we de preach?

1, 2. (a) For the night before Jesus die, wetin e tell the disciples? (Check the first picture.) (b) Why e good make we de remember why we de preach? (c) Wetin we go talk about for this topic?

FOR the night before Jesus die, e spend plenty time with e apostles. E use this time tell them say e really love them. Na that time e tell them the example of the vine wey we learn about for the first topic. Why Jesus tell them that example? Na to encourage them to “continue to produce plenty fruit.” This one mean say, make them de endure as them de preach.—John 15:8.

2 But Jesus no only tell e disciples wetin they need to do, e still tell them why they need to do-am. E tell them why they go continue to preach. But why e good make we know the reason? Because anytime wey we remember the reason, e de give us power make we no tire as we de preach for the whole world. (Matt. 24:13, 14) For this topic, we go talk about four reason why we need to continue to preach as Bible talk-am. We go still talk about four gift wey Jehovah give us so that e go help us endure as we de preach.

WE DE HONOR JEHOVAH

3. (a) As John 15:8 talk-am, why we de preach? (b) For the example wey Jesus give, wetin the grapes mean, and why the grapes na better example?

3 The number one reason why we de preach to people, na to honor Jehovah and make e name holy. (Read John 15:1, 8.) Remember say for the example wey Jesus give, e talk say Jehovah dey like the person wey e “plant” grapes, or farmer. After, Jesus talk say na e be the vine, and e disciples na the different-different branch. (John 15:5) So, this example really show say the grapes na the fruit wey disciples of Christ de produce as them de preach the good news about the Kingdom. Jesus tell them say: “Make wuna continue to produce plenty fruit, because this one de bring my Father honor.” When vine produce good grapes, the farmer de get honor. Na so e still be, when we do our best as we de preach the good news about the Kingdom, e de bring honor and praise to our God Jehovah.—Matt. 25:20-23.

4. (a) How we de show say we de make the name of God holy? (b) How you de feel as God give you chance to tell people about e name?

4 How our preaching work de make the name of God holy? We no fit make the name of God holy pass as e dey. The name already dey holy. Isaiah 8:13 talk say: “Na Jehovah of armies wuna go see as holy.” One way wey we de make that name holy, na to treat-am special from any other name, and help people to treat-am the same. (Matt. 6:9, ftn.) For example, we de help people know about the fine-fine character wey Jehovah get, and the better life wey e don promise us. This one go make people know say Satan de lie about God. (Gen. 3:1-5) We still de make the name of God holy when we de help people know say na only Jehovah suppose “to get honor, praise, and power.” (Rev. 4:11) Rune na one brother wey e don de pioneer for 16 years, e talk say: “I de happy say the Maker of heaven and earth give me the chance to tell people about e name. This one de make me want continue to preach.”

WE LOVE JEHOVAH AND JESUS

5. (a) As John 15:9, 10 talk-am, why we de preach? (b) Wetin Jesus talk wey e show say we really need to endure?

5 Read John 15:9, 10. Another important reason why we de preach na because we love Jehovah and Jesus. (Mark 12:30; John 14:15) Jesus tell e disciples make they “remain for [e] love.” Why e talk so? Na because e know say to live as Christian no go easy. Disciples of Jesus go need to de endure. Na e make for John 15:4-10, Jesus use the word “remain” plenty times.

6. Wetin we go do if we want make Jesus continue to love us?

6 If we want make Jesus continue to love us, or we want remain for e love, wetin we go do? We go de do the things wey Jesus command us. Jesus show us good example to de obey. E talk say: “Just as I don obey the commandment of my Father, and e continue to love me.”—John 13:15.

7. Person fit obey if e no get love? Explain.

7 One thing wey Jesus talk before show say, to obey and to love de go together. E talk say: “Any person wey e hear my commandment and obey-am, na that person love me.” (John 14:21) The thing wey Jesus command us to do na the thing wey Jehovah want. So when we obey, and go preach as Jesus command us, we de show say we love Jehovah. (Matt. 17:5; John 8:28) As we de show Jehovah and Jesus say we love them, them go continue to love us.

WE DE WARN PEOPLE

8, 9. (a) Wetin be another reason why we de preach? (b) As Ezekiel 3:18, 19 and 18:23 talk-am, why we de preach?

8 Number three reason why we de preach na to warn people about the thing wey Jehovah go do. Bible talk say Noah “preach about wetin good.” (Read 2 Peter 2:5.) Before the heavy rain fall that time, Noah preach and e fit be say e warn people about the thing wey God go do wicked people. Why we fit talk so? Because Jesus talk wetin happen that time. E talk say: “That time before the heavy rain fall, people de chop and drink, men de marry, and them de give their women out for marriage, until that day wey Noah enter the ark, and they no even notice-am until the heavy rain come and destroy all of them. Na so e go still happen when the Son of man go dey around.” (Matt. 24:38, 39) Even as the people no listen, Noah no stop to tell them the thing wey God talk say e go do.

9 Today, we de preach so that everybody go fit learn about the kind life wey Jehovah don promise us. Jehovah want make everybody get life. We want-am too, na e make us de hope say people go listen to our message and get life. (Ezek. 18:23) We still de preach from house to house and for public so that we go fit warn plenty people say small time, the Kingdom of God go destroy all wicked people.—Ezek. 3:18, 19; Dan. 2:44; Rev. 14:6, 7.

WE LOVE OUR NEIGHBOR

10. (a) As Matthew 22:39 talk-am, which other reason de make us preach? (b) Explain how Paul and Silas help one prison guard for Philippi.

10 Number four important reason why we de preach na because we love our neighbor. (Matt. 22:39) This love de make us no tire to preach because we know say people fit change when their condition change. For example, for Philippi, some people catch Paul and Silas and put them for prison because of their preaching work. But for night, earthquake shake the prison, and doors for the prison open. The prison guard fear say all the prisoners don run and e take sword to kill e self. But Paul shout say: “Make you no kill yourself!” Then the prison guard ask them say: “Wetin I must do so that I go get life?” They tell the man say: “Put faith for the Lord Jesus, and you go get life.”—Acts 16:25-34.

One sister de preach to one woman

We de preach because we love Jehovah, Jesus, and our neighbor (Check paragraph 5, 10)

11, 12. (a) How the story about the prison guard concern our preaching work? (b) How we go fit help people when them ready to listen?

11 How this example concern our preaching work? Notice say the prison guard change e mind and beg for help only after the earthquake. Na so some people no accept our message before. But when some problem for life shake them, they fit change their mind and accept make we study Bible with them. For example, they fit no get work again, or their marriage scatter. Other people fit no happy because them de sick, or because somebody wey they love die. This kind things fit make some people want find answers to questions about life. E fit even be questions wey they no want talk about before. They fit even ask say, ‘Wetin I go do so that I go get life?’ For the first time for their life, they fit want listen to our message of hope.

12 So, how we go fit help people when they want listen? We go fit help them only when we continue to preach. (Isa. 61:1) Charlotte na one sister wey e don pioneer for 38 years now. E talk say: “People for this our time no know where they fit get answers to their questions. They need to hear the good news.” Ejvor na one brother and e don pioneer for 34 years. E talk say: “People don de suffer before, but for this our time, problems don too much. E make people no de happy. And I de continue to preach because I really want help them.” True-true, the love wey we get for people de move us make we continue the preaching work.

DIFFERENT-DIFFERENT GIFT DE HELP US ENDURE

13, 14. (a) Which gift John 15:11 talk about? (b) Wetin go make us de happy as Jesus? (c) How joy de help us for our preaching work?

13 The night before Jesus die, e talk about different-different gift. This gifts go help the apostles endure as them de preach. Make we talk about this gift and how they fit help us.

14 Joy. If we obey and de preach as Jesus command us, na heavy load? No! After Jesus don give the example about the vine, e talk say when we de preach, we go get joy. (Read John 15:11.) In short, e promise us say we too go get the joy wey e get. How this one fit happen? Remember say the vine na Jesus, and the different-different branch na e disciples. Vine de give all e branch food and water, as long as the branch remain with the vine. Na so Jesus de happy, as e de do the things wey e Father talk. So, as long as we remain with Jesus and copy e example, we too go get joy. (John 4:34; 17:13; 1 Pet. 2:21) One brother don pioneer pass 40 years, e name na Hanne, e talk say: “After I preach finish, the way my heart de glad, de give me power make I no tire to serve Jehovah.” The truth be say, when we really dey happy, we go fit continue with the preaching work, even for the place wey plenty people no de listen.—Matt. 5:10-12.

15. (a) Which gift John 14:27 talk about? (b) How peace de help make we continue with the preaching work?

15 Peace. (Read John 14: 27.) For the night before Jesus die, e talk say: “I give wuna my peace.” How the peace wey Jesus de give de help make we continue with the preaching work? Jehovah and Jesus de happy with us as we de preach. This one de give us peace inside our heart. Na this peace de make us endure as we de preach. (Ps. 149:4; Rom. 5:3, 4; Col. 3:15) Ulf na one brother wey e don pioneer for 45 years, and e talk say: “I de tire when I come back from preaching. But the work de make me happy, and I de live correct life.” We de thank Jehovah as e don bless us with peace wey e go last forever!

16. (a) Which gift John 15:15 talk about? (b) Wetin go help the apostles continue to be friends with Jesus?

16 We get Jesus as our friend. Jesus no only tell e apostles say they go de happy if they continue to preach. E still tell them why they need to love people from their heart. (John 15:11-13) After that one, e tell them say: “l de call wuna my friends.” Friendship with Jesus na wonderful gift from Jehovah! Wetin help the apostles continue to be friends with Jesus? Jesus tell them wetin go help them. E talk say: “Make wuna go and continue to produce fruit.” (Read John 15:14-16.) Around two years before e talk that one, e don first tell them say: “As wuna de go, make wuna preach say: ‘The Kingdom of heaven don near.’” (Matt. 10:7) So, for the last night, e tell them make them de endure as them de preach. (Matt. 24:13; Mark 3:14) Jesus know say the preaching work no go easy. But how they go fit succeed so that they go continue to be friends with Jesus? Another gift go help them.

17, 18. (a) Which gift John 15:16 talk about? (b) How this gift help disciples of Jesus? (c) Today, which gift de give us power to continue to preach?

17 Jehovah de answer our prayer. Jesus talk say: “The Father fit give wuna anything wey wuna use my name ask.” (John 15:16) Wetin e talk really give e apostles strong heart!a The truth be say, e disciples no really understand wetin Jesus mean. E talk this one because small time, e go die. Even though say e no go dey with them, God go still help them. Jehovah ready to answer their prayer and help them make they continue to preach. And e no take long time, Jehovah answer their prayer.—Acts 4:29, 31.

One sister de pray, e need help from God

We fit dey sure say Jehovah de answer our prayer, and e de help us (Check paragraph 18)

18 Na so e still be today. We go de enjoy friendship with Jesus, if we de endure as we de preach. Another thing be say, we go dey sure say Jehovah go answer our prayer. Even when e no easy, Jehovah go help us as we de preach. (Phil. 4:13) Jehovah de answer our prayer and Jesus na our friend. This one na big blessing. All this gift de give us power so that we go continue to preach.—Jas. 1:17.

19. (a) Wetin make us no de tire to preach? (b) Wetin de give us power to finish the preaching work?

19 We don learn for this topic say, if we no tire to preach, e go show say (1) we de honor Jehovah and make e name holy, (2) we love Jehovah and Jesus, (3) we de warn people, and (4) we love our neighbor. We still learn say, we get plenty gift. We get joy, we get peace, Jesus na our friend, and Jehovah de answer our prayer. All this gift de give us power to finish the preaching work. Jehovah go really happy say we de do our best to “endure as we de preach”!

a When Jesus de talk with e apostles, e tell them many times say God go answer their prayer.—John 14:13; 15:7, 16; 16:23.
