Them come hide near the lowland* de wait. 6 Saul come tell Ken′ite people say: “Make una comot from where Amʹa·lek people dey, so that I no go sweep una troway with them, because una show Israel people love wey no de fail the time wey them de come out from Egypt.” So Ken′ite people comot from where Amʹa·lek people dey. 7 After that one, Saul kill Amʹa·lek people from Hav′i·lah go reach Shur wey dey near Egypt. 8 E use sword kill all the other people, but e just catch A′gag wey be the king of Amʹa·lek, e no kill-am. 9 Saul and the people leave* A′gag and all the sheep and cows wey better pass, the animals wey fat well-well, the rams, and everything wey good. Them no want destroy them, but them destroy all the useless things and the things wey them no want.
10 Then Jehovah tell Samuel say: 11 “I regret* say I make Saul king, because e don stop to obey me, and e no do wetin I talk.” This thing worry Samuel no be small, and e continue to cry, de beg Jehovah the whole night. 12 When Samuel wake up for early morning make e go meet Saul, them tell Samuel say: “Saul go Car′mel, and e build one pillar for there wey them go take remember-am. Then e change direction go Gil′gal.” 13 At last, when Samuel come meet Saul, Saul tell-am say: “Make Jehovah bless you. I don do wetin Jehovah talk.” 14 But Samuel ask-am say: “So where the sheep and the cows wey I de hear their noise come from?” 15 Saul come answer-am say: “Them bring them come from Amʹa·lek people, because the people leave* the sheep and cows wey better pass, so that them fit use them do sacrifice to Jehovah your God, but we destroy wetin remain.” 16 Samuel come tell Saul say: “E don do! Make I tell you wetin Jehovah tell me yesterday night.” So e tell-am say: “Talk!”
17 Samuel come still talk say: “No be you be de see yourself as nothing when them make you head for the tribes of Israel and when Jehovah anoint you as king for Israel? 18 After, Jehovah send you one message and tell you say, ‘Go destroy those Amʹa·lek people for their sins. Fight them until you kill all of them finish.’ 19 So why you no obey Jehovah voice? Instead, you use long throat rush gather things from there and you do wetin bad for Jehovah eyes!”
20 But Saul tell Samuel say: “But I don obey Jehovah voice! I go the message wey Jehovah send me, I bring A′gag the king of Am′a·lek come, and I destroy all Amʹa·lek people. 21 But the people take the sheep and cows wey better pass from the things wey them collect from there, wey them suppose destroy, so that them go use them do sacrifice to Jehovah your God for Gil′gal.”

E no want make you be king for Israel again.” 27 As Samuel turn say make e de go, Saul grab the edge of the coat wey no get hand wey Samuel wear, but e tear comot. 28 So Samuel tell-am say: “Today, Jehovah don comot the kingdom of Israel from your hand the way you take tear this cloth comot so, and e go give-am to another man wey better pass you. 29 Apart from that one, the Wonderful God of Israel no go lie, or change im mind,* because E no be ordinary man wey de change mind.”*
30 So e talk say: “I don sin. But abeg, respect me for front of the elders of my people and for front of Israel people. Follow me go back, and I go bow down to Jehovah your God.” 31 Samuel come de waka follow Saul for back as e de go back with-am.
