Then e tell the woman say: “Abeg, use demon power tell me wetin go happen, and call the person wey I go tell you make you call for me.” 9 But the woman tell-am say: “You go don know wetin Saul do, how e comot all the people wey de talk with spirits and people wey de talk wetin go happen for future, from the land. So, why you come de set trap for me* so that them go kill me?” 10 Then Saul use Jehovah name swear give-am say: “As Jehovah dey alive, nobody go talk say you do bad for this matter!” 11 So the woman ask-am say: “Na who you want make I call for you?” E answer-am say: “Call Samuel for me.” 12 When the woman see “Samuel,”* e come shout well-well with loud voice and tell Saul say: “Why you deceive me? You be Saul!” 13 The king come tell-am say: “Make you no fear, but wetin you de see?” Then the woman answer Saul say: “I de see person wey resemble god wey de come out from ground.” 14 Quick-quick, Saul ask-am say: “How e be?” E come answer say: “Na old man wey de come out, and e wear coat wey no get hand.” So Saul just know say na “Samuel.” E come bow down and lie down for ground.

Phi·lisʹti·a people de fight me, and God don leave me, e no de answer me again, whether to use prophets talk or to use dreams, e no do any one. Na im make I de call you so that I go know wetin I suppose do.”
16 “Samuel” come ask-am say: “Why you come de ask me for direction now wey Jehovah don leave you and don become your enemy? 17 Jehovah go do wetin e be don use me talk. Jehovah go comot the kingdom from your hand, and give-am to another man, David. 18 Because you no obey the voice of Jehovah and you no kill all Am′a·lek people, wey be say them make-am vex no be small. Na im make Jehovah de do you this thing today. 19 Jehovah go still put you and Israel people for the hand of Phi·lisʹti·a people, and tomorrow, you and your sons go dey with me. Apart from that one, Jehovah go put Israel soldiers for the hand of Phi·lisʹti·a people.”
