3 Moses come start to take care of the sheep* of im father-in-law Jeth′ro, wey be the priest of Mid′i·an. As e de direct the sheep go the west side for the wilderness, at last e come reach Hor′eb wey be the mountain of the true God. 2 Then Jehovah angel appear to-am inside fire wey dey one small chuku-chuku tree. As e continue to look, e see say fire dey the chuku-chuku tree, but the fire no burn the chuku-chuku tree. 3 So Moses talk say: “I go go there go check this wonderful thing wey I de see so, to know why the chuku-chuku tree no de burn.” 4 When Jehovah see say Moses go there to look, God voice come out from the chuku-chuku tree and call-am say: “Moses! Moses!” and e talk say: “See me here.” 5 Then e talk say: “Stop for there. Remove your sandals from your leg because the place wey you de stand na holy ground.”
6 E continue to talk say: “I be the God of your papa, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses cover im face, because e de fear to look the true God. 7 Jehovah still talk say: “True-true, I don see the suffer wey my people wey dey Egypt de face, and I don hear their cry because of people wey de force them to work. I really know all the pain wey them de feel. 8 I go go down go save them from the hand of Egypt people and bring them come out from that land to land wey dey good and big, land wey milk and honey de flow for inside, the area of Ca′naan people, Hitʹtite people, Am′or·ite people, Per′iz·zite people, Hi′vite people, and Jeʹbus people. 9 Now see! The cry wey the people of Israel de cry don reach my ear, and I don still see the harsh way wey Egypt people de suffer them. 10 Now come, I go send you to Phar′aoh, and you go bring my people, wey be Israel people come out from Egypt.”
11 But, Moses tell the true God say: “Who I be to go meet Phar′aoh and bring Israel people come out from Egypt?” 12 With this one, God talk say: “I go show say I dey with you, and na this one be the sign for you to know say na me send you: After you don bring the people come out from Egypt, una go serve* the true God ontop this mountain.”
13 But Moses tell the true God say: “What if I go meet Israel people and tell them say, ‘The God of una papa-papa them don send me come meet una,’ and them ask me say, ‘Wetin be im name?’ Wetin I go tell them?” 14 So God tell Moses say: “I Go Be Wetin I Choose to* Be.” And e still talk say: “This one na wetin you go tell Israel people, ‘I Go Be don send me to una.’” 15 Then God still tell Moses say:
“This one na wetin you go tell Israel people, ‘Jehovah the God of una papa-papa them, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, don send me to una.’ This one na my name forever, and this one na how people go de remember me from generation to generation. 16 Now go, and make you gather the elders of Israel and tell them say, ‘Jehovah the God of una papa-papa them don appear to me, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and e tell me say: “I don surely see una and wetin them de do una for Egypt. 17 So I talk say, I go comot una from suffer for the hand of Egypt people and take una go the land of Ca′naan people, Hitʹtite people, Am′or·ite people, Per′iz·zite people, Hi′vite people, and Jeʹbus people, land wey milk and honey de flow for inside.”’
18 “Them go surely listen to you, and you go go, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and make una tell-am say: ‘Jehovah the God of Hebrew people don talk with us. So, abeg, give us three days, we want travel go wilderness so that we go fit sacrifice to Jehovah our God.’ 19 But I really know say the king of Egypt no go allow una go, unless my powerful hand force-am. 20 So I go stretch my hand and punish Egypt with all the powerful things wey I go do for there, and after that one, e go allow una go. 21 And I go make Egypt people show my people favor, and when una go comot, una no go ever comot with empty hand. 22 Each woman must ask im neighbor and the woman wey de stay im house, for things wey them make with silver and gold, and for cloths, and una go dress una sons and una daughters with this things. Una go pack the things wey Egypt people get.”
