Why I Need to Pray?

  • Wetin be prayer?

  • God de listen to prayer?

  • Wetin I fit pray about?

  • Wetin your friends de talk

Wetin be prayer?

Prayer na correct way wey person de use talk to God wey make everything. Just think of wetin that one mean! Na Jehovah big pass. Even with that one, “e no dey far from any of us.” (Acts 17:27) The truth na say, Bible de invite us “make [we] come near God, and God go come near [us].”—James 4:8.

How you fit draw near God?

  • One way na to pray—na so you fit talk to God.

  • Another way na to study Bible—na so God de “talk” to you.

When you de talk to God for prayer and God de use Bible talk to you, this one go help you make you be tight friend with God.

When we de always talk to Jehovah, the God wey high pass, this one na honor wey big pass wey person fit ever get.”—Jeremy.

“To tell Jehovah wetin really dey my mind de make me feel say I dey near Jehovah.”—Miranda.

God de listen to prayer?

Maybe you believe say God dey and you de pray to God, but e fit de hard you to gree say God de listen to your prayer. But Bible talk say Jehovah “de hear prayer.” (Psalm 65:2) And e still talk say make you “throw all your problem” to Jehovah. Why? “Because e de care for you.”—1 Peter 5:7.

Think about this one: You de find time to always talk to your tight friend? Na so you fit do with God. De always pray to God and make sure say you de use e name, Jehovah for your prayer. (Psalm 86:5-7; 88:9) So Bible de encourage you to “pray every time.”—1 Thessalonians 5:17.

“When I de pray, I de talk with my Papa for heaven, I de tell God everything for my heart.”—Moises.

“I de pour my heart to Jehovah, just the way I de talk to my mama or my tight friend.”—Karen.

Wetin I fit pray about?

Bible talk say: “For everything, make you de pray, de beg, and de thank God as you de tell-am everything wey you want.”—Philippians 4:6.

That one mean say e dey OK to pray about your problems? Yes! Bible even talk say: “Throw all your worry to Jehovah, and e go support you.”—Psalm 55:22.

But when you de pray, no just de talk about only your problems. One young woman wey e name na Chantelle talk say “If na so-so help I de ask Jehovah everytime wey I de pray, that one no show say I be better friend. I feel say to thank Jehovah suppose come first and the things wey I de thank Jehovah for go plenty.”

Think about this one: Which things for your life de make you thank God. You fit think about 3 things wey you go thank Jehovah for today?

“Even simple things, like fine flower, fit move us to pray thank Jehovah.”—Anita.

“Think about the things wey God make wey you really like or one Bible verse wey you read and e really touch you, and then thank Jehovah for this things.”—Brian.

Wetin your friends de talk

Moises

“Make your prayers deep like well, no be like small water for basin. Jehovah want help us, na true say e know wetin we need even before we ask, but our deep prayers de show say we really trust Jehovah.”—Moises.

Miranda

“Prayer be like rope wey I de hold for one side and Jehovah de hold the other side. When I pour my heart to Jehovah, e just be like say I de hold the rope tight and when Jehovah answer my prayer, this one de make our friendship tight.”—Miranda.

Jeremy

“If we no dey careful, our prayer fit be God ‘give me this, give me that.’ But when we de thank Jehovah e de show say we like the plenty things wey e don do for us and this one go help us make we no de pray only about ourself.”—Jeremy.

Shelby

“The more we de thank Jehovah, the more e go make-am easy for us to continue to thank Jehovah. When we de thank Jehovah, e de help us put mind for the blessings wey we de get and no be the problems wey we de face.”—Shelby.
