KwiEksodus 22:16, 17 nakwiDuteronomi 22:28, 29, sifumana lo mthetho, bambi abaye bathi ubonakala ungabonakalisi luvelwano kumabhinqa. Enyanisweni, ukhuthaza umgangatho ophakamileyo wokuziphatha okuhle kumadoda nakumabhinqa.
IDuteronomi isahluko 22 sinikela imithetho eyahlukahlukeneyo yezentlalo. Ngokomzekelo, ixubusha ngemeko yendoda eyayingasamthandi umfazi wayo yaza yathi akazange abe yintombi enyulu. Kwakhona ivakalisa imithetho kaThixo engokukrexeza nokudlwengula. Emva koko sifunda oku:
“Xa umfo athe wayifumana intombi eyintombi engaganiweyo, wayibamba, wayilala; kwafumaneka ukuba kunjalo: loo mfo uyileleyo womnika uyise wentombi amashumi omahlanu eeshekele zesilivere, ibe ngumkakhe, ngenxa yokuba eyonile. Akanakuyala yonke imihla yakhe.”—Duteronomi 22:28, 29.
Le yayiyimeko yokulalwa ngokunyanzelwa okanye neyokuhenyuza. Ukuba indoda elitshijolo yayinokuziva ikhululekile ukuba neentlobano zesini nentombi enyulu, loo ntombi yayiya kuba yeyona ilahlekelwayo. Ngaphezu kokuba kwakunokwenzeka ukuba ibe nomntwana ongumgqakhwe, ixabiso layo njengomtshakazi laliya kuhla, kuba amaSirayeli amaninzi ayesenokungafuni ukuyitshata emva kokuba ingaseyiyo intombi enyulu. Ingqokelela yeMithetho kaMoses yayinelungiselelo elalivumela indoda ukuba imale umfazi wayo ngenxa yezizathu ezithile. (Duteronomi 22:13-19; 24:1; Mateyu 19:7, 8) Kodwa oko sikufunda kwiEksodus 22:16, 17 nakwiDuteronomi 22:28, 29 kubonisa ukuba ilungelo lokumala laliphela emva kokuhenyuza naye ngaphambi komtshato. Ngoko, oku kwakunokuyenza indoda (okanye ibhinqa elinyulu) lisixhathise isihendo sokuhenyuza. Indoda yayingenakuvakalelwa kukuba, ‘Mhle yaye unomtsalane, ngoko ndiza kuzonwabisa naye nangona engelulo udidi lwentombi endingathanda ukuyitshata.’ Kunoko, lo mthetho wawuya kuthintela ukuziphatha okubi ngokubangela ukuba nabani na obeya kuba sisaphuli-mthetho ayicingisise ngokunzulu imiphumo yexesha elide yokuhenyuza—yokufuneka ukuba ahlale nelinye ilungu bonke ubomi bakhe.
Lo Mthetho wakwanciphisa nengxaki yemigqakhwe. UThixo wayalela oku: “Makungangeni mgqakhwe ebandleni likaYehova.” (Duteronomi 23:2) Ngoko ukuba indoda eyayilele intombi enyulu kwakufuneka iyitshatile, ukuhenyuza kwabo kwakungasayi kuphumela kwinzala eyimigqakhwe phakathi kwamaSirayeli.
Kuyavunywa ukuba, amaKristu aphila kwimekobume yentlalo eyahlukileyo kuleyo yamaSirayeli amandulo. Asisekho phantsi kwemimiselo yoMthetho kaMoses, kuquka nomthetho ofuna ukuba abantu ababini abahenyuze ngolo hlobo batshate. Sekunjalo, asinakuvakalelwa kukuba ukuhenyuza ngaphambi komtshato kuyinto engenamsebenzi. AmaKristu afanele acingisise nzulu ngemiphumo yexesha elide, njengoko lo mthetho wawashukumisela amaSirayeli ukuba enjenjalo.
Ukulala umntu ongatshatanga kuyalonakalisa ilungelo laloo mntu lokungenela umtshato wobuKristu njengelungu elinyulu (indoda okanye ibhinqa). Uhenyuzo lwangaphambi komtshato lukwachaphazela amalungelo akhe nabani na osenokuba liqabane lalowo uhenyuzileyo, oku kukuthi, ilungelo lelo qabane lokutshata umKristu onyulu. Ngaphezu kwako konke, ukuhenyuza kumele kuphetshwe kuba uThixo uthi kuphosakele; kusisono. Ngokufanelekileyo umpostile wabhala wathi: “Kuba oku kukuthanda kukaThixo, ukungcwaliswa kwenu, ukuba nikhumke kulo uhenyuzo.”—1 Tesalonika 4:3-6; Hebhere 13:4.
