THE FIRST FIVE LETTERS WEY PAUL WRITE WHEN E DEY PRISON FOR ROME

Apostle Paul write five letters the first time wey e dey prison for Rome around 60-61 C.E. For the letter wey e write to Philemon, wey be im Christian brother for Colossae, Paul explain say Onesimus wey be Philemon slave wey run leave im master don become Christian. Paul be like papa to Onesimus and now e de send back this slave as im Christian brother, wey “before-before dey useless” to im owner.—Philem. 10-12, 16.

When Paul write Colossians, e tell the brothers wey e de write to say, Onesimus “come from [their] place.” (Col. 4:9) Onesimus and another brother Tychicus happy to carry this letter, the ones wey e write to Philemon, and Ephesians go give the brothers wey e write to.—Eph. 6:21.

When Paul de write Philippians, e tell the brothers about when e “dey for prison” and e still talk about the condition of Epaphroditus wey help-am send im letter give them. The brothers for Philippi be don send Epaphroditus go help Paul. But Epaphroditus come sick sotey e nearly die. E come dey sad because the brothers for Philippi “hear say e sick.” This one make Paul tell them to show say them value “this kind people.”—Phil. 1:7; 2:25-30.

Hebrews na letter wey Paul write to Hebrew Christians wey dey for Judea. Even though say the letter no mention who write-am, we know say na Paul write-am. Na the same style wey Paul de use reason and explain things for other letters, na im still dey for Hebrews. Paul still send greetings from Italy, and e mention Timothy wey dey with-am for Rome.—Phil. 1:1; Col. 1:1; Philem. 1; Heb. 13:23, 24.

23, 24. Like Paul, how Christians today de show say them no lose their joy even when them put them for prison because of their faith?

23 Gba al’ichi Pidgin, Ẹnẹfu

24 Gba al’ichi Pidgin, Ẹnẹfu

25, 26. Which prophecy Jesus talk wey Paul see as e happen, and how this prophecy still de happen for this our time?

25 Gba al’ichi Pidgin, Ẹnẹfu

26 Gba al’ichi Pidgin, Ẹnẹfu

PAUL LIFE AFTER 61 C.E.

E fit be say na around 61 C.E. Paul defend imself for front of Emperor Nero and e be like say Nero free-am. We no too know wetin Paul do after that time. If e go Spain as e plan before, e go be say na around this time e take go. (Rom. 15:28) Around 95 C.E. Clement of Rome write say Paul travel ‘go far-far part of the W[est].’ And Spain fit be part of-am.

Paul write first and second Timothy and Titus after them free-am from prison. This letters show say e visit Crete, Macedonia, Nicopolis, and Troas. (1 Tim. 1:3; 2 Tim. 4:13; Titus 1:5; 3:12) E fit be say na for Nicopolis wey dey for Greece, them arrest-am again. Whether na there or no be there, but around 65 C.E., them send-am go back to prison for Rome. This time, Nero decide to kill Paul. Tacitus wey come from Rome and wey de write history say when fire destroy Rome for 64 C.E., Nero lie say na the Christians do-am and start to suffer them for wicked way.

For im second letter to Timothy, Paul know say e go soon die, so e tell Timothy and Mark to come quick-quick. Luke and Onesiphorus show say them get strong heart because them risk their life to go encourage Paul. (2 Tim. 1:16, 17; 4:6-9, 11) For that time, if person say e be Christian, them fit arrest and torture-am till e die. E fit be say na small time after e write im last letter to Timothy around 65 C.E. na-im them kill Paul because of im faith. Report about how Nero die talk say Nero kill imself about three years after them kill Paul.

THEM PREACH THE GOOD NEWS “EVERYWHERE UNDER HEAVEN.”

Around 61 C.E., when apostle Paul dey prison for Rome, e write say them don preach the “good news” for “everywhere under heaven.” (Col. 1:23) Wetin Paul mean?

E fit be say Paul want show say many people for many lands don already hear about the “good news.” But e get other lands wey the good news never reach. For example, before Alexander the Great die, e reach India for fourth century B.C.E. after e take over big part of Asia. Julius Caesar attack Britain for 55 B.C.E., and Claudius use force take over the south side of that island, and e come make-am part of Roman Empire for 43 C.E. People know the lands wey dey for East part of Asia wey them de make fine silk material.

Them preach the good news reach Britain, China, and East part of Asia? E fit no be so. Paul want go preach for Spain because na place wey the good news “never reach.” But by the time e write letter to the Christians for Colossae around 56 C.E., e still never go Spain. (Rom. 15:20, 23, 24) But around 61 C.E., people done hear the Kingdom message well-well. Even if e never reach other areas, but e don spread far go reach the homelands of Jew people and the people wey don join Jew people religion wey baptize for Pentecost 33 C.E. and still reach the lands wey Jesus apostles visit.—Acts 2:1, 8-11, 41, 42.
