Jesus Get Power to Command Demons

After the wahala wey happen for sea, the disciples see something wey shock dem when dem reach dry land. Two men wey demons dey their body run come out from grave yard. The men dey vex well well, and dem dey run go meet Jesus! Na one of dem Bible talk about pass. Maybe na im dey vex pass, and maybe the demons don tey for im body pass the other man own.

The man condition really bad. E dey naked waka for everywhere. Every day and night, “the man continue to dey shout for inside the grave yard and the mountain, and dey use stone wound imself.” (Mark 5:5) People dey fear to pass where this man dey, because e dey dangerous. Some people don try to chain am before. But e cut the chain, and e break the iron wey dem put for im leg. So nobody get power to fit hold this man.

As the man waka near Jesus, e come kneel down for Jesus front. The demons wey dey control the man come make am dey shout sey: “Jesus Son of the God wey High Pass, which business I get with you? I take God put you under oath sey make you no punish me.” Jesus do wetin show sey e get power pass demons. E command am: “Come out from this man, you wicked spirit.”—Mark 5:7, 8.

But no be only one demon dey the man body. So when Jesus ask am im name, e answer sey: “My name na Legion, because na plenty of us dey.” (Mark 5:9) Na thousands of soldiers dey form one Roman legion. So na plenty demons join hand dey suffer the man. And e dey sweet dem as e dey suffer. The demons come beg Jesus sey “make e no send dem go abyss.” E clear sey dem know wetin go happen to dem and Satan wey be their master.—Luke 8:31.

About 2,000 pigs dey eat grass near the place. For the Law wey God give Moses, pig na animal wey no clean and Jew people no suppose get am. The demons come sey: “Send us to the pig, so that we go enter dem.” (Mark 5:12) Jesus tell dem make dem go and dem really enter the pigs. So the 2000 pigs come jump from the high place wey dem dey enter the sea. Na so all of dem take die inside the water.

When the people wey dey take care of the pig see wetin happen, dem hurry go tell people wey dey the town and outside the town. The people come so that dem go see wetin happen. Dem see sey the man wey the demon comot from im body don well, and e dey behave like normal person. E don even wear cloth and e sitdown near Jesus!

When people see the man or hear the news, fear catch dem well. Because dem no know wetin this one fit cause. Dem come tell Jesus make e comot from their area. As Jesus enter boat dey go, the man wey e heal come beg am sey e want follow am. But Jesus tell the man sey: “Go meet your people for house, and tell dem all the things wey Jehovah don do for you and the way e take pity you.”—Mark 5:19.

Most time when Jesus heal people, e dey tell dem make dem no tell anybody. This na because e no want make people believe am because of the plenty story wey dem hear. But this man na proof to show sey Jesus get power. And e fit even preach to people wey Jesus never meet. If people dey talk bad about Jesus because of the pig wey die, this man go fit correct dem.
