Joshua
14 Now this one na wetin Israel people take as property for the land of Caʹnaan, wey El·e·aʹzar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun and the heads of the family groups from their papa side from the tribes of Israel give them as their property. 2 Them use lots share the property for the nine and half tribes, just as Jehovah don command Moses. 3 Moses be don give the other two and half tribes their property for the other side* of River Jordan, but e no give property to the Levites wey dey among them. 4 Them count the children-children of Joseph as two tribes, Ma·nasʹseh and Eʹphra·im; and them no give any land as property to the Levites, them only give them cities wey them go stay and place wey them go de get food for their animals and keep their things. 5 So Israel people share the land just as Jehovah don command Moses.
6 Then the men of Judah go meet Joshua for Gilʹgal, and Caʹleb the son of Je·phunʹneh wey be Keʹnaz person tell Joshua say: “You really know wetin Jehovah tell Moses the man of the true God about you and me for Kaʹdesh-barʹne·a. 7 I be dey 40 years when Moses the servant of Jehovah send me from Kaʹdesh-barʹne·a to go check* the land, and I come back with correct report.* 8 Even though say my brothers wey go up with me make the people fear,* I follow Jehovah my God with all my heart.* 9 Moses swear that day say: ‘The land wey you don put your leg waka inside go be property wey go last for long time for you and your sons, because you don follow Jehovah my God with all your heart.’ 10 Now just as Jehovah promise, e don protect my life this 45 years since when Jehovah make this promise to Moses when Israel people waka for wilderness; I still dey alive today, and now I be 85 years. 11 And today I still dey strong as I dey the day wey Moses send me go check the land. My power now still dey as e dey that time, to fight war and to do other things. 12 So, give me this area wey mountains dey wey Jehovah promise that day. Na true say that day you hear say Anʹa·kim people dey there and them get strong cities wey get protection, but for sure,* Jehovah go dey with me and I go drive them comot,* just as Jehovah don promise.”
13 So Joshua bless Caʹleb the son of Je·phunʹneh and give-am Hebʹron as property. 14 Because of this one, na Caʹleb the son of Je·phunʹneh wey be Keʹnaz person get Hebʹron as property till today, because e follow Jehovah the God of Israel with all im heart. 15 The name wey them be de call Hebʹron na Kirʹi·ath-arʹba (Arʹba na important man among Anʹa·kim people). And the land rest from war.
