UAmosi—Ngaba Wayengumqokeleli Okanye Umtheni Wamakhiwane?
EMVA phayaa kwinkulungwane yesithoba ngaphambi kweXesha Eliqhelekileyo, umprofeti uAmosi wayalelwa nguAmatsiya ongendawo, umbingeleli wonqulo lwethole ukuba ayeke ukuprofeta kwaSirayeli. UAmosi wakukhaba oko esithi: “Ndandingumalusi nomtheni wamakhiwane emithi yesikamore. UYehova wandithabatha ndilandela umhlambi, yaye uYehova wahlabela mgama wathi kum, ‘Yiya, uprofete kubantu bam amaSirayeli.’” (Amosi 7:14, 15) Ewe, nguYehova owathuma uAmosi ukuba aprofete; akazange azimisele ngokwakhe. Kodwa wayetheth’ ukuthini uAmosi xa esithi ‘wayengumtheni’ wamakhiwane emithi yesikamore?
Igama lesiHebhere eliguqulelwe ngolu hlobo livela kwesi sihlandlo kuphela kwiNguqulelo Yehlabathi Elitsha. Ezinye iinguqulelo zeBhayibhile ziliguqulela ngokuthi “umqokeleli,” “umlimi” “umhlakuleli” okanye “umnyamekeli” endaweni yokuthi “umtheni,” wamakhiwane emithi yesikamore. Noko ke, ulindixesha iEconomic Botany uthi eyona ndlela ifanelekileyo yokuguqulela eli gama kukuthi “umsiki” kuba eli gama libonisa isenzo esikhethekileyo somlimi wamakhiwane esikamore.
Ukuthena, okanye ukusika, okuthetha ukuvula imingxuma kumakhiwane esikamore, kwakuyinto eqhelekileyo eYiputa naseSipro mandulo. Oku akusenziwa kwaSirayeli namhlanje kuba sekulinywa imithi yamakhiwane eyahlukahlukeneyo apho. Noko ke, oku kwakusenziwa ngamaSirayeli omhla ka-Amosi, kuba imithi yesikamore eyayilinywa apho ngelo xesha yayivela eYiputa.
Kuyacaca ukuba oku kwakusenza la makhiwane akwazi ukufunxa amanzi ze abe nencindi. Oku kwakusenza ibe ninzi negesi ekuthiwa yiethylene, eyenza amakhiwane avuthwe ngokukhawuleza, abe makhulu yaye abe mnandi. Enye into, izinambuzane ezonakalisa iziqhamo zitsho phantsi xa isiqhamo siye savuthwa ngokukhawuleza.
Phezu kwako nje ukuba nemvelaphi ephantsi yokuba ngumalusi nomtheni wamakhiwane, uAmosi zange atyhwatyhwe ziintshaba zakhe. Kodwa, ngesibindi wavakalisa umgwebo kaYehova nxamnye noSirayeli. Lo ngumzekelo omhle gqitha kubakhonzi bakaThixo namhlanje, nabo abamele bavakalise isigidimi esingathandwayo!—Mateyu 5:11, 12; 10:22.
