KANYE noJesu kuqhutshwa izelelesi ezimbili ziyobulawa. Ebangeni elingekude nomuzi, udwendwe luma endaweni ebizwa ngokuthi iGolgotha, noma iNdawo Yekhanda.
Leziboshwa zikhunyulwa izingubo zazo. Khona-ke zinikezwa iwayini elixutshwe nenyongo. Ngokusobala lilungiselelwa abesifazane baseJerusalema, futhi amaRoma awawenqabi lomuthi odambisa izinhlungu kulabo ababethelwayo. Nokho, lapho uJesu ewunambitha, uyenqaba ukuwuphuza. Ngani? Ngokusobala ufuna ukuba osanguluke ngokuphelele phakathi naloluvivinyo oluphakeme lokholo lwakhe.
Manje uJesu ulaliswa esigxotsheni izandla zakhe zibekwa ngenhla kwekhanda lakhe. Khona-ke amasosha abethela izipikili ezinde ezandleni nasezinyaweni zakhe. Uyapaquza ezwa ubuhlungu njengoba izipikili zibhoboza inyama nezinhlanganiso zamathambo. Abapristi abakhulu, kuhlanganise noKayafase noAnase, bayakhathazeka. Lesimemezelo sokutusa sonakalisa ihora labo lokunqoba. Ngakho-ke bayenqaba: “Ungalobi ukuthi: Inkosi yabaJuda, kepha ukuba yena wathi: NgiyiNkosi yabaJuda.” Ecasulwe ukusetshenziswa abapristi njengethuluzi labo, uPilatu uphendula ngokugomela okuwujuqu: “Engikulobile ngikulobile.”
Abapristi, kanye nesixuku esikhulu, manje bahlangana endaweni yokubulala, futhi abapristi bazama ukuphikisa ubufakazi bophawu. Baphinda ubufakazi bamanga ngaphambidlana ababunikeze ekuqulweni kwamacala kweSanhedrin. “Wasindisa abanye, angezisindise yena,” kungenela abapristi abakhulu nabangane babo benkolo. “Uyinkosi yakwaIsrayeli; akehle manje [esigxotsheni sokuhlushwa, NW], sikholwe nguye. Wethembile uNkulunkulu; makamkhulule manje, uma emthanda, ngokuba wathi: NgiyiNdodana kaNkulunkulu.”
Ethathekile, amasosha nawo enza uJesu inhlekisa. Ngokubhuqa amnika iwayini elibabayo, ngokusobala elimisa ngaphansana nje kwezindebe zakhe ezomile. “Uma uyinkosi yabaJuda,” egcona, “zisindise.” Ngisho nezelelesi—esinye esibethelwe ngakwesokudla sikaJesu, nesinye kwesobunxele sakhe—zimhleka usulu. Ake ucabange ngakho! Umuntu omkhulu kunabo bonke abake baba khona, yebo, lowo owahlanganyela noJehova uNkulunkulu ekudaleni konke, uqinile ekubhekaneni nakho konke lokhu kuphathwa kabi!
Amasosha athatha izingubo zikaJesu zangaphandle futhi azihlukanisa izingxenye ezine. Enza inkatho ukuze abone ukuthi kuzoba ezikabani. Nokho, ingubo yangaphakathi ayinasici, ingeyohlobo oluphambili. Ngakho amasosha athi lwelinye nelinye: “Asingalidabuli, kodwa asilenzele inkatho yokuthi liyakuba-ngelikabani.” Ngaleyondlela, engazelele, agcwalisa umbhalo othi: “Babelana izingubo zami, benzelana inkatho ngesambatho sami.”
Ngemva kwesikhashana, esinye sezelelesi siyaqaphela ukuthi ngempela kumelwe ukuba uJesu uyinkosi. Ngakho-ke, sikhuza esinye, sithi: “Nawe awumesabi uNkulunkulu, ingani ukulokhukulahlwa nawe na? thina kambe ngokufaneleyo, ngokuba samukela okulingene nesikwenzile; kepha lo akenzanga-lutho olubi.” Khona-ke sikhuluma noJesu, sinxusa: “Ngikhumbule, nxa usufiké embusweni wakho.”
“Ngiqinisile ngithi kuwe namuhla,” kuphendula uJesu, “Uyokuba nami ePharadesi.” (NW) Lesithembiso siyogcwaliseka lapho uJesu ebusa njengeNkosi ezulwini futhi evusela lomenzi wobubi ophendukile ekuphileni emhlabeni ePharadesi abasinde eArmagedoni nabangane babo abayoba nelungelo lokulilima.
