Ingabe Ukwesaba Kuyakuthinta?
“KUKHONA izehlakalo ezinkulu ezweni namuhla.” Kwabhala kanjalo uRené Dubos, isazi sesayensi nefilosofi, encwadini yakhe yamuva iCelebrations of Life. Waqhubeka: “Nokho, ngokuphambene, usizi lwalesisikhathi aluveli ezinkingeni esibhekene nazo ngempela, kodwa luvela ezinhlekeleleni ezingakenzeki, futhi ezingase zingenzeki neze.” Ngamanye amazwi, umuntu wesaba ikusasa ngoba uthi ephila ebe elindele into angaqiniseki ngayo futhi engalungiseki.

Wayebikezele ukuthi ithempeli eJerusalema laliyobhujiswa futhi abafundi bakhe babelangazelela ukwazi ukuthi “lokhu kuyakuba-nini na? Nesibonakaliso siyakuba-yini, lapho sekuyakwenzeka lokhu, na?”—Luka 21:7.
Engxenyeni yokuqala yempendulo yakhe uJesu wahlobanisa izenzakalo lezo abaningi balesosizukulwane abazibona. Kodwa wasebenzisa umbuzo wabo ukuba ahlanganise izenzakalo ezazihlanganisa imbulunga yonke lezo ezaziyobonwa, hhayi yilesosizukulwane sokugcina sabakhulekeli bamaJuda ethempelini, kodwa, ngokubaluleke ngokwengeziwe, yilabo ababeyophila esiphelweni salesisimiso sezwe samanje. Waxwayisa: “Kuyakuba-khona izibonakaliso elangeni nasenyangeni nasezinkanyezini; nasemhlabeni usizi luyakwehlela izizwe, zixakeke ngokuduma kolwandle namaza, abantu baphele amandla ngokwesaba nangokubheka okuvelela umhlaba; ngokuba amandla ezulu ayakunyakaziswa.”—Luka 21:25, 26, 32.a
Ngokusobala, abantu bezizukulwane ezedlule baye baba nokwesaba—ukwesaba izimpi zalezozindawo, izinhlupho, izinhlekelele nokushintsha kwezenhlalo. Kodwa ingabe isizukulwane sika-1914 sabona okuthile okuhlukile? Ngokuqinisekile, ngoba wonke “umhlaba,” zonke izizwe, ziye zathinteka kusukela kuloloshintsho. (Luka 21:25, 26) Kuningi okuye kwadidiyeleka eminyakeni engama-69 eyedlule kangangoba abantu abadala abaye bakubona baxakekile futhi bayesaba. Futhi manje, ngenxa yokusongela kwenyukliya, abantu babo bonke ubudala, ngisho nabantwana, bakhathazekile ngekusasa lokuphila kwabo. Kuye kwashiwo ngokufanele ukuthi amazwi asevamile, noma umuzwa oyinhloko, wekhulu lama-20 UKWESABA.
Kodwa mhlawumbe ucabanga ukuthi siyandisa. Ingabe ukwesaba ngezenzakalo zanamuhla nezesikhathi esizayo kusakazeke ngokwanele ngathi ukukukholelwa ukuthi kugcwalisa isiprofetho sikaJesu? Ingabe ngempela kuyingxenye yobufakazi bokuthi sisesikhathini sokugcina? Ingabe lesi isikhathi lapho ‘abantu bephela amandla ngokwesaba nangokubheka okuvelela umhlaba’?
